After less than a minute, the top of Sibyl's head breached the water. With only her eyes peeking out from the depths, she waited. One hand helped her tread; the other rested against her holster, ready to grab her weapon at a moment's notice. She was floating in a pond no larger than the one she had come through mere moments before. Except now, she was surrounded on all sides by dense forest. The trees were impossibly large, their trunks extending up even farther than the eye could see. Though it appeared to be daytime on this side of the veil, the forest floor was almost entirely obscured by a dense layer of fog. For the time being, no other creature was in sight. Swimming to the edge of the water, Sibyl pulled herself out and stood. As she waited, she pulled out one of her blades. S
