Griffin's eyelids slid open and he groaned. He'd been dreaming about a car accident he and his parents had been involved in three years ago. His dad had been at the wheel doing the speed limit on an empty road just outside of Muskoka, Ontario. The sun had just set, taking with it much of the August day's blistering heat. The best of the 60s classic rock had been blasting over the stereos with Griffin and his mom both occasionally breaking out into ill-timed, off-tune singing. It had seemed as though they were going to be able to enjoy a nice weekend trip away from the city.
