I thought I was asleep.
There was a strange pain tearing through my soul, refusing to let it rest.
I felt trapped in the middle of something huge and terrible.
It was like my head was carrying a weight too heavy to bear.
Exhaustion ran through every part of my body.
I opened my eyes slowly.
Harsh light slammed into them.
Instinctively, I shut them again.
I was dazed. I couldn’t even force my eyes open properly.
I blinked two or three times, then opened them with everything I had.
A bright bulb hung above me, burning my eyes.
With effort, I looked around. I needed to know where I was.
My whole body felt imprisoned. I couldn’t move.
Then I realized my body was bound with ropes.
