Summoned to be a Weapon

"Gau has arrived at a place to carry out your orders, owner" Let inform him.

The two of them were awaiting this thus now Rangi was just waiting for what Let would tell him. Whatever Gau was seeing was something that Let would be able to as well given their unique connection to each other.

"Humans are standing at the entrance to the town. They are checking those that are attempting to into the town" Let told as this is what Gau was seeing at the moment.

After being asked to describe them when Rangi informed her that they were probably guards and from what they looked like. It was assumed that they were there to do weapon checks. Something he claimed was done in the larger towns normally. Realizing he did not know if this was a mere weapon check or if it was one for stealthy rooting out those that were sentient weapon users and thus being aware that they were within the town itself. The reasoning for not being sure was that he did not as he only heard about them and just recently managed to get his hands on one himself.

Rangi could make out if this was a routine thing to do or if it really was a check set up for root out users of sentient weapons after all. Then he had to wonder if they knew what he looked like and also that he had a gauntlet type sentient weapon on him now. Rangi did not kill the person who was more than likely to attempt to kill him. As he did not want to take the chance of losing thus once they were distracted tried to get away as fast as possible. Whether or not he really had there were no follow up attacks and his original attacker did not seem to be following him as well.

However, if they reported back to whoever they answered. Then his identity and his ownership of Gau and Let through chance. That could have been given to them thus means to spread their images all through this region and beyond could already be under way. Rangi was not aware of who the superior to the person that attacked him was and what display of their power and influence they might attempt to use in order to hunt him down and then finish the job that would be left undone if he was still alive after all. The destruction of Malbury Point clearly was not their only goal, after all, it was supposedly razed to the ground along with the forest there is no mention of the village. This was a possibility because despite what he overheard about the area now even though he had seen it with his own eyes. As if this was not the case then the ruins of the village would have been present and the forest not completely erased in a sense as well.

"There were no pictures of owner or us anywhere around the guard," Let reported.

"Then it's possible that in a best case scenario, they do not know anything nor have been sent anything. Not knowing what any of us look like" Rangi replied

'This is the farthest town I know and the edge of where I explored before and I might not make it to the next one before running out of needed supplies. Given I do not even know how far the next town or anything is after this point. So the question is how should we approach the guards at the entrance without getting noticed" he thinks.

"Can not we just go like this" Let suggested motioning to herself as a suggestion that they just go in their human forms.

Rangi then shakes her head.

"Not a good idea as we can be spotted as if it is a stop to check for sentient weapons there are probably things set up to reveal you both even in human form in this case," he said

As Rangi then stretched a bit seemingly out of the blue cause he just felt like it at the moment the sentient weapon pair noticed there was something on the palm of one of his hands.

"What is that owner" Let asked.

Rangi just had similar thoughts.

"This thing here *Rangi motioned to the pattern on his hand* it's a strange pattern that seemingly appeared on my hand when I pushed myself away from falling directly on the two of you" he explained.

"Why is it glowing at the moment though," Let asked curiously "Why does it appear and disappear at a time since it is not always visible on your hand either"

After some trial and error, it was then discovered that Rangi was able to use that pattern to store them inside it somehow. When inside the pattern it would remain visible on his hand but that was something that could easily be covered up. Using one of the gloves that Rangi still had within the bag he was carrying with him. So those pair of gloves hide the pattern from view.

"Welcome to our fair town and thanks for the wait as things are seemingly tense at the moment for some reason," the guard said

After Rangi had passed their inspection of him with flying colors. Seemingly proving to him at least that this was a mere weapon checking before entering into town. Having only been here just once he was not aware if this was routine and he just got lucky no one checked him back then or someone just was not doing their job properly at the time

Once in town Rangi would let out Gau and Let or at least that was the plan. However to do so this soon after entering the town. Even if he was to do it in what he hoped was an unwatched and unmonitored area of the town. Rangi decided against this as it was most likely not a good idea to let the two of them out this soon given how the guard had drilled him but everyone else for a while.
