Neon light from the city washed Dominic's face in broken patches of red and green, leaving his expression half lit and half in shadow. As I looked at him, he suddenly seemed smaller. His body hadn't changed. The confidence that had always made him seem larger than life was simply gone. Dominic had always moved through life with calm certainty.
