The trio had been grounded by Zhao Kai's father, confined to their rooms for the rest of the day as punishment. Zhao Kai was the exception—he was out running errands with his father all afternoon, leaving the house quiet. Yang Jun waited until he was sure the front door had stayed shut for a while.
