The first thing Alexa heard was a shrill ringing that she at first tried to ignore. It stopped for a while and she tried to go back to sleep but it started again and it just wouldn't stop.
With great reluctance, she sat up from the bed and the first thing she realized was that her head was banging. It felt so heavy and she almost fell back on the bed but the incessant ringing just wouldn't stop.
She finally found the cause of the disturbance and her first thought was to smash it against the wall for being annoying but she must have had some rational thinking left because she thought better of it.
