The shrill sound of her ring tone let Alexa know that someone was calling her. She bookmarked the book she was currently reading, then picked up the phone.
She smiled when she saw the name on the screen and with excitement, she swiped, answering the call.
“Edward", she said simply.
“Alexa. How are you?" he asked.
“I'm great now that I can hear your voice", she replied, cheesing hard.
Ever since she and Edward fixed their relationship, it was almost as if she had been the one putting in all the effort. She was the one calling and texting first. He always replied her but she wished he'd also make the first move.
She had started to worry that his feelings for her were dwindling but this call just put her mind at ease.
