Alexa and Mike sat together and Mike was telling her something but as hard as she tried, she just couldn't pay attention. Her mind was occupied with other things.
Against her better judgement, her eyes sought out Dominic. She hadn't seen him since he left her not long after they arrived at the party.
Although she knew she shouldn't because she was just setting herself up for pain but even though her brain was trying to warn her eyes, they didn't listen.
They carried on their search and when they landed on him, she was pleasantly surprised to see that he wasn't surrounded by girls like she was expecting. He wasn't swapping spit with them or flirting with them.
He just sat down with a group of friends talking and laughing. Alexa watched him as he laughed, smiling to herself.
