Auctioneer: “The current bid is 2.2 million.”
Quite a few people in the room were showing interest in the watch, and the bids had already exceeded the starting price by 30%.
Jack pressed his lips together, looking serious.
“The number you dialed…” Sofia heard the automated voice informing her that the call couldn’t be connected. She was at a loss, completely panicked.
“2.4 million.”
“Jack…” Sofia was shocked. The voice she had just heard was Jack’s—he had raised a paddle and joined the bidding.
“Don’t worry, I’ll help you get it today.” He had borrowed his friend’s paddle to participate.
Although Sofia hadn’t directly asked Mr. Davis for help, he was about to step in, knowing it concerned her family. However, since his nephew acted first, he decided to leave it to Jack.
