Rising From The Ashes

416 Words
The Moon Ceremony had ended weeks ago, but its echoes still haunted the pack. The bond I had once thought broken now throbbed faintly, a reminder of what had been denied—and what I had reclaimed. Kael called me to the center of the pack clearing. All eyes were on me. Every whisper, every glance, every judgment I had endured came together now, focused on this one moment. The Alpha approached slowly, his dark eyes unreadable. The pack was tense. Even the elders had stopped their whispers, waiting. “You have grown,” Kael said, his voice carrying across the clearing. “Stronger than I imagined, more controlled than expected. You have survived trials that would have broken any other.” I held my head high, silver energy flickering faintly around my fingertips. “I am no longer the weak mate you rejected,” I said, voice steady, commanding. “I am no longer the one who will bow or hide. I am my own, and I will not be underestimated.” The pack was silent. Some faces betrayed shock, others fear, and a few admiration. Kael’s gaze softened, just slightly. “You have learned control. You have mastered power. And now, you stand not only as my mate, but as the Luna the pack deserves.” I blinked, disbelief and triumph fighting for dominance inside me. “My… Luna?” “Yes,” he said quietly. “Not because I chose you at first, but because you chose yourself. You survived. You rose from rejection. You became what the pack—and even I—did not see.” The elders murmured their assent. The warriors straightened. Even the rival Alpha who had dared challenge me earlier bowed his head slightly. The silver light in me pulsed, warm and steady. My wolf purred softly inside me. I had fought. I had survived. And I had won—not because of anyone else, but because I refused to remain broken. Kael stepped forward and extended his hand, not as a mate claiming me, but as a partner acknowledging my strength. I took it, feeling the bond pulse between us, stronger now because it was chosen, not forced. The forest seemed to sigh, alive with acknowledgment. I was no longer rejected. No longer weak. No longer broken. I had risen from the ashes. And the pack, the Alpha, and the world itself would never forget the Luna who had refused to be anything less than extraordinary.
