Ghost wedding

*ARYA* Two days later Some strange looking women were assigned to dress me up for the occasion. My wedding with a sickly and disabled ruthless prince, but no matter how much I tried to look unaffected and unbothered, I couldn't forget what I heard about him that night at the bar. If those women could be daughters of remarkable families, they would have undergone several trainings to be chosen, but if they had all ended up getting executed, then it only means that the prince would find any opportunity to get rid of anyone he doesn't want in his sight. I was one hell of a clumsy girl, I doubted if I'd spend twenty four hours before getting beheaded. Another rumor that night was about him losting his first love, which caused him to become ruthless to any woman who tries to please or throw themselves at him. What's the point in proposing if you'll eventually execute your spouse? I couldn't help but wonder if he has some particular hatred for Janelle or my family at large. Whatever the option may be, I have to suffer the consequences all by myself. "All done" they muttered and immediately led me out. It's the first time getting special treatment from anyone since mom's death. I felt a tiny bit of honor and I'll use it all to my advantage. My father escorted me out into the sleek royal blue Lamborghini and it took all my willpower to not snatch my hand and yell at him to keep his filthy hands to himself. If he couldn't see the fact that Lady Lana was simply using him to her own benefits, he should deal with his problems on his own! I got into the back seat as gracefully as I could manage, my gaze turned away from my father who looked as if he was about to warn me again but I didn't give him the chance. Who was he to warn me while leading his daughter to her own death? "Go in there, the wedding is about to commence" the driver said as soon as I alighted the vehicle. A wedding without the bride's escort! Perfect for a lady who wants to boost her self pride. I strode into the room, not daring to look back more than once as I was attacked by a fiery glare from the driver behind me. Who the hell was he anyway? The moment I stepped into the hall, I suddenly wanted to break out into some crazy laughter. Apparently, there was no one in the hall apart from the man at the alter, who looked like the pastor, a man in suit with some documents in hand, the scary looking guy behind me and the bride herself. "Won't you move it?" The guy behind stated angrily and I bit my lips hard. "I can't see the groom in sight!" I mentioned in sarcasm and a low growl of frustration escaped him. "You expect him to waste his time on a low class like you?" He retorted sharply and in inhaled hurtfully. Right! What was I even thinking? I took the rest of the steps towards the alter, and like that, the vows was made by me alone and the documents was handed to me for my signature. I scoffed inwardly, seeing that his signature was stacked in it's right place beforehand. This was no different from a contractual marriage. My ghost wedding ended and I was taken home to the royal palace. "Find your way in" the driver guy said grumpily before walking off. "But...." The words got stuck in my throat, seeing that he had no interest in showing me around or even taking me to where I'm supposed to be right now. "You must be the new girl" a voice muttered arrogantly and I was forced to look back at who it was. "What are you wearing?" She grumbled irritatedly and I couldn't help but wonder if she was just dumb or pretending to be dumb. "Hello, I'm Arya and I'm wedded to..." "I don't care who you're wedded to, girl. Your marriage has ended with you in here, I advice to take your mind off of escaping to return to your sweetheart" she responded before I got a chance to complete my statement. It should hurt that she sees me as some kind of maid. A new maid. But it strangely didn't hurt. It was a feeling I was accustomed to. Still, I had to make things clear! "Come with me, right now" she added before walking off. "Ma'am, I'm not... the new girl. I'm the Alpha Prince's bride" I blurted out, crossing my arms in self defense. She turned briskly, shooting me an amusedly funny look and then let out a ridiculous laugh. "I don't think you'll be saying that if you really knew the Alpha prince" she paused and took slow strides towards me. "But..." "You see... Many girls tend to say that whenever they're brought in here and they're mostly deemed to a faster end" she said with a creepy smile that immediately turned into a glare, making me cringe. "You understand me, right?" "But... I" "Do you understand me?" She yelled and I bit back a fearful gasp as I nodded quickly. "Good! Now come with me without muttering as much as a word. And it's Madam Chang to you, not ma'am" she said before turning away. I bit my lips, seeing how easily I got misunderstood because I wasn't strong enough to protect myself. I couldn't even win an argument to defend myself. I could only obey her decisions to stay unscathed. "You'll stay here for now. Get changed and meet me at the kitchen" she ordered grumpily. I pushed myself into the room, and the atmospheric tension grew annoyingly. "What the hell is she wearing?" The girls inside gossiped loudly, wearing disgusting looks on their faces. "Hello" I greeted with a tiny wave as I walked into what seemed like a closet. I got changed and made to walk out but one stopped me. "I don't care what your origin is, but while you're here, shouldn't you learn to pay more respects to your seniors?" She inquired with an arrogant smirk. She looked like she was the era's queen, the one everyone else respected and as much as I wanted to vent my frustration, I didn't want to leave a bad impression. "I'm sorry, I'm new here, I hope you understand" I said simply and walked out. A frustrated sigh left my lips as I made my way towards the kitchen. I had no idea where it was located and I'd probably spend the whole day looking for it. Luckily, I found someone nice enough to show me the directions. "Dry those dishes" Madam Chang ordered the moment I stepped into the kitchen. "Yes madam Chang" I drawled. "And do it fast, you don't want to keep the Alpha prince waiting, especially when he just arrived from the hospital" she said without looking back. My eyes lit up and dropped in a second. I didn't know if I should be glad or scared that he's back but the fact that he was at the hospital when I went to the alter alone, made me a little less hurt. He is still just a sick Prince after all. I cleaned the dishes as instructed and in no time we were done preparing the Prince's dinner. Asides slicing some ingredients and doing the cleaning, Madam Chang barely made me do anything else. She was very conscious of the cooking itself. That was when I started to wonder if anything has to do with the absence of any maids in the kitchen. "Every kitchen activities is performed by me alone and it's being that way for years!" She paused then shot me a hard glare. "If anything goes wrong, then you'll have to answer to execution because you're the only witness" she stated before handing me a tray. "Deliver this to the Prince's chamber" I nodded quickly though I had no idea where his room was and I couldn't dare ask. She could just dig out my intestines with the knife in her hand. I strode down the hallway slowly, carefully taking in the vibe that exudes every room. Luckily, some had labels and It was obvious it wasn't the room I was looking for. By the time I found the right one, I was practically gasping for breath and my hands were shaky from the weight of the tray. My hand were yet to heal to completely, making it even harder to compel the weight, but I didn't dare make mistakes if I wouldn't face even greater pains. It was a room with a keypad lock. I wasn't sure if it was the right room but my instincts wouldn't let me if I didn't check it out. I knocked gently with one foot, hoping whoever was in would hear me. But after waiting for what seemed like eternity, I pressed the doorbell. I hadn't seen it initially. The door finally clicked open and I pushed myself in after realizing that it opened automatically. My jaw dropped open at the sight of the beautifully dark room. Yeah... Dark! Was I supposed to drool? I told myself No! Until my gaze dropped on the naked back of whoever was seated by the edge of the bed with a wheelchair right in front of him. The sickly and ruthless crowned Alpha Prince, I presumed. "Hello, Mr.... Your highness. I brought your dinner" I said, my voice barely over a whisper as my heart threatened to burst out of my ribcage. He didn't speak a single word, but his aura alone was the perfect definition of hot, dark and ruthless!
