My first love

" perfect" Mum screamed as she finished knotting my tie.

" thanks mum" I said and pecked her cheeks lightly.

" you are welcome, now, get going or you would be late" she said as she pushed me towards the door.

" I think you ate forgetting something mum, I am the ceo and so, I can go in whenever I want," I said as she continued pushing me towards the door.

" okay fine" I replied when she didn't answer and allowed her push me till we got to the car.

" Byeeeeee" I greeted once more as I sat in the car.

" lest I forget, I will go back to the house today, I miss my husband already" she said almost immediately.

" Noooooo " I whined, I really didn't want her to go.

"yessssss" she whined in return and chuckled loudly.

" Get this baby out of here" she said to the personal driver assigned to me.

" yes ma" he replied before looking to me for confirmation. I simply relaxed into the car as it left my house. I knew there was no point arguing with her.

I walked out of the car and adjusted my sunglasses.I was finally here, the newest ceo of one of the most prestigious companies in the country.

I sighed and slowly walked into the company." Goid morning" I greeted as I walked past the receptionist. " Good mo......" she choked on her sentence.

I entered the elevator with some workers and immediately I entered. There was a hush as though they were placed on a curse. I wasn't surprised, I was used to people being amazed at my looks. not to brag,but I had really good looks,with a good body I earned from working out in the gym.

I walked into the corridor of the first floor. That is where my office was situated.But as though in sync with those In the elevator, everyone fell silent. You could literally hear a pin drop.

out of the corners of my eyes, I noticed some ladies adjusting their clothes and makeup. I felt disgusted, I still wasn't used to it and so everytime, I would fell disgusted at their fruitless attempts to get me to notice them.

I walked past them and into my office. I knew the company almost the same as I knew the palm on my hand.

when dad was the ceo, I would visit, and would sometimes play around with mrs Victoria.

five minutes later, I heard a slight knock on the door." come in I answered and held up my head to see who it was.

" hi bear" I heard her say, Victoria Rayes.

ANNA

I felt a deep sence of familiarity when I heard the name but I quickly shrugged it off. it wasnt the Xavier i knew right,It was probably just a coincidence right? I put the thought behind me as I continued my tour round the building's walls.

The building's were beautiful, they looked like they were carefully crafted and modelled.

After about ten minutes of sightseeing, i decided to go back to my trainer's office. I made some turns hoping to find the elevator but I realised that I had forgotten the way.

I panicked internally, I couldn't get lost on my first day. I just couldn't.

It took me another fifteen minutes of walking and asking before I was able t get to the elevator. hoped and prayed that I wasn't late for the briefing.

XAVIER

as I walked into the office where the briefing would be held, I felt the energy in the room shift. could I enter a room without people reacting that way, I didn't mind, I was here to meet the interns.

" Everyone, this is Xavier, our new ceo" Victoria said introducing me. I smiled trying to appear approachable, trying to ignore the looks they all gave me.

As I was about to respond, the door opened and a lady walked in breathing heavily. It seemed that she had been running and was now struggling to catch her breath.

" I'm sorry I'm late" she said in a very beautiful voice. I stared at her hair feeling a sence of recognition. But the person with that hair kept hers long and curly, this was short and straight.

" it's fine miss Annabelle " Victoria said making my heart pound. was she really here, the girl I had once loved, the girl who was my first love, Annabelle Roblins.

I waited for her to sit down before I saw her face, it was really her, she was really here, i felt my heart jump in happiness and confusion.

I was happy that I saw her once again but I was confused considering how we parted ways.

I had changed since high school. I had grown , evolved. I could see the curiosity in her eyes, the hint of recognition, but also a wariness. she didn't know what to make of me and I didn't blame her.

As I began to speak, presenting our company's vision and goals, i could feel Anna's eyes on me. I glanced at her occasionally, trying to gauge her reaction. she seemed engaged, interested, but also guarded.

I understood, we had history, a complicated one, but I was ready to put the past behind us , to start anew.

As the presentation ended, I opened the floor for questions. Anna hesitated at first, then raised her hand. " can you elaborate on the company's culture" she asked, her voice confident.

I smiled impressed, " absolutely " I replied, launching into a passionate explanation of our culture.

As I spoke. I couldn't help but notice the way her eyes sparkled, the way her expression softened.

she was listening, really listening, and I could sense her guard dropping ever so slightly. It was a small c***k in the armour but I seized it pouring my passion and enthusiasm into every word.

when I finished, she nodded thoughtfully, her gaze lingering on mine.I felt a jolt of electricity run through me.

" Thank you" she said and sat down. Her voice, a little softer than before.

I smiled, feeling a sense of triumph. " Anytime,Anna, I'm always here to help.

I allowed the other interns to ask questions, but occasionally, I would glance at her. My first love.
