Crossing The Line With You (COMPLETED)

Chapter Four

Meghan was on her third bottle when she heard some giggling and a knock on the door.  Sam has been gone for two hours and she's been drinking a lot lately.  What is happening to her.  She walked towards the door and saw the two smiling at each other.

'Oh, sorry to disturb you Miss.  I am Adam and this is Violet, I am the son of Rodrigo and she is the daughter of Uncle Alberto.  Sam, I mean Miss Samantha asked us to check on you if you needed anything, she will take another hour or so before she'll be able to come back.  We also brought some meat that we can help you to grill later for dinner.' 

'Hi Adam and Violet, come in.  Glad I will have some company, I am kind a bored and I think I am getting drunk by drinking these beers!'  The youngster laugh.

'Miss Meghan, we are not sure if we can cure your boredom but we will try.  I believe there were some gameboards somewhere here that we used to play with Miss Samantha, if you are up to it.'  The cute young lady Violet said.

'Oh, that's not fair I am not good at it!' Protest Adam.

'Now, now you both just take a sit. I will just keep this bottle as underage cannot drink alcohol.  Or are you two legal already and just look young?  I am a little hungry though and I think I smell something sweet. What is that?'

The two youngster excitedly open  what's inside the basket.  'It is nothing much, just banana fritters, but my mom makes the best banana fritters in town!' Adam gave a light chuckle.

'Ok then let me be the judge of that!'  Meghan took one and take a bite.  She smiled.

'If it is not too much, can you ask your mom if she can prepare some for me and Sam tomorrow so we can enjoy it while on our way back to the city? It is delicious!  I love it!'  Meghan took another one and put in her mouth.  The other two laugh.

'You are funny Miss!'  They both said.  They put the meat on the fridge as they decided it is still early for them to start cooking since Sam will be coming in late.  They decided to just check what game they can play while waiting for Sam.

As they searched, they found a chess board, scrabble and other word games.  And then decided to play Uno Stacko.   They spent an hour playing and decided to stop as the two girls keeps beating Adam and they both felt bad.

'Hey, do you guys have any idea on what your parents and Sam are busy with?  It seems so urgent that Sam need to go back, normally it will be like a planned trip.'  Asked Meghan.

'We are not sure of the details but I heard our dad said that soon hopefully in the next six months Miss Samantha will find her peace and start to enjoy where she is now.  I also do not understand what they mean but I think it is really important.'  Meghan got more confused on what Violet said.

'How do you know Sam? I know she grew up here but are you relatives?'  Meghan asked. 

'Not by blood Miss but we are like family.  We remember her playing with us together with Tom and Becka whenever they come here for vacation.'  Meghan saw sadness on both Adam and Violet's eyes. 'Although they live in the city because of her dad's job, they always visit during school break.  Her parents are friends with ours, she is much older than us and they used to baby sit us when our parents decided to go for camping or fishing.   After the tragedy...', Adam stops for a while, 'Sam stayed here but she's not the same as before.  We kept asking about her, and my Dad just said to give her time and as she finds herself.  Then two years after the tragedy, she talked to our parents and left for the city but she never failed to come back at least once a year, on the same date, she will come and stay for the night.'

'Is it today?  She never really talked about what happen that day and we also never asked as it is personal to her.'

'Yes Miss, it is today.  But hearing her voice earlier, she sounds different.  It seems like she's happy.  Maybe she found her peace and herself as my dad said.'  Violet said.

'I hope you are right, I wanted her to be happy.'   The two gave a teasing smile at Meghan.

'And what's with those smile?' Meghan asked confused.

'Are you two a couple?  She never brought anyone one before, and we also remember Tony used to tease her having crush with Miss Adam her teacher.' Meghan's heart beats faster when she heard that.  So she does like girls, she thought.  But she never knew of anyone and the closest she can think of having a romantic relationship with her is Gilbert Wang.

'Oh, sorry to disappoint you guys but we are not, she's my boss you know!  But how I wish we are.'  Meghan covered her mouth after hearing herself say the last sentence.  Adam and Violet looked at each other and started teasing her again.

'She likes her boss!' They continue teasing.  

"Guys please stop, and please don't you ever mention that to anyone.  It is not right, she is my boss but I do like her.  Please, promise you won't say.'  The two saw the flee from Meghan's eyes.

'Ok, promise.' The two says.  They heard a car from the driveway and heard conversation from the distance.

'Adam! Violet! you guys are here!' Called Samantha.

The two run towards Sam and gave her a hug.  'We missed you.' said the two.  'You don't visit often.' A sound of disappointment from their voice.

'I am sorry but promise I will visit more often or maybe why don't you visit me for a change?'  Sam offered.  The two just nod excitedly.  

'Have you started preparing dinner?' Rodrigo asked the two.  They looked at each other and realized that it is already dark.  Meghan comes into defense.

'Oh, its Ok Rodrigo.  I told them we will prepare it later when Sam arrived so she can get some rest while we prepare.'  She smiled on the two.

'Ok, we will leave you all then.  Adam, I will take a ride with your Uncle Alberto and leave the car so you can take it and drop Violet later.'  Rodrigo told Adam.

'Yes Dad.' Adam replied.  The two gentlemen take their leave.

'So shall we start preparing?' asked Sam.  She looked tired.

'Sam, take a nap first and get some rest.  You have been working late and up early and you drove us for hours earlier.  The three of us can handle this.'  The other two agreed.

Samantha also felt she needed a nap and went to her room.

The three took out the meat from the fridge and started preparing dinner.  After a while, Adam  pulled Violet on the side and whisper something. Meghan noticed it and teased the two.

'Hey, no whispering.  I am jealous I have no one to whisper sweet nothings to!' Then she laugh.  The other two also laugh.  And Violet said Ok.  

'Where is Adam going? asked Meghan.  'He remembers he needed to run an errand but he will be back. Don't worry I am an expert on the grill.'  Violet chuckle.

'Hmmm, me too?' Meghan laughed.  

Adam came back after an hour all smiles.  It was already dark outside but the moon is so bright and the sky are filled with stars.  The ladies are done with the grill and just need to prepare the table.  It was around 8pm.

'Miss Meghan, why don't you get Miss Samantha and I will help Violet prepare the table.'  Rodrigo told Meghan.  Meghan looked at the two and then walked towards the room.

When Meghan entered the room the two quickly pick up all the food and utensils and carried them outside.  Meghan saw Sam on her bed still sleeping, she really is tired she thought.  Tomorrow I should offer to drive back.  She hesitated for a while but then decided to wake her up for since it is not good to sleep with empty stomach.  

She walks and scoot beside the bed staring at Sam's face.  She stop on her lips and thought how much she wanted to taste them.  She found herself inch away of Sam's lips when she heard Sam's voice.

'I am still alive Meghan.'  Sam said surprising Meghan causing her to fall on her butt.  Sam immediately stands up and check on her.

'Are you ok?  Sorry I startled you!'

I'm ok.' Meghan said unsure of what really happen.  'Umm, dinner is ready the two are waiting for us.'  Meghan stands up and went out of the door without looking at Sam.  Sam was left kneeling at the floor wondering if what she thought is right, is Meghan about to kiss her?

Sam followed Meghan outside and confused of the wide grin from Adam and Violet.  

"I thought dinner is ready?'  Sam asked.  "I am also asking this two what happen to dinner.' Meghan followed.

'Oh, we thought it will be nice to have it outside and enjoy the night.'  Violet said.

'Ok then come and let's eat before it gets cold.'  Sam said.

'Oh, the thing is Dad just called and said they are waiting for us so we must go back.  But we prepared everything so you two can enjoy.'  They gave Meghan a wink and the two embraced Sam.

 'Come visit soon!'  The two said before closing the door behind them.  Sam and Meghan were confused, the two youngster are weird they thought.

'So it is just us, come let's go and eat.  I'm famished!', Sam took Meghan's hand and pulled her to walk outside.  They looked around wondering where those two setup the table and saw a torch light and table near the beach.  They walked slowly not sure of what to expect.

'Hmmm, this is nice!  A for the effort!  You know anything about this?' asked Sam.

Meghan shakes her head, so this is what the whispering is all about she thought.  She actually loves it.  There are two torches on both sides so it is bright enough to see the food on the table.  The table was spread with flower petals.  It is kind of romantic, dinner at the beach.  I should thank those two next time I see them.

'They even bought wine or is this the wine on cupboard?'  Sam laughed.  'Those two never failed to amaze me!  This looks like a dinner date.  I should have given this spot to them if they stayed.  I know they liked each other since they were kids.'

'But they left and its ours now!' protest Meghan.  Sam looked at Meghan.

'Jealous? Then lets make this a date, our first date!'  Sam smiled and noticed the uneasiness from Meghan.

'Meghan I was just kidding, sorry for what I said.'

'No Sam, I agree let's make it a date, our first date.'  Meghan said, hopefully it is not the last she thought.  Sam smiled and pulled a chair for Meghan.

They enjoyed dinner, laughing and talking about how those two sneak on them to prepare all these.  After dinner they decided to just take a walk on the beach with the bottle of wine on hand, alternately taking a sip from it.  

 'Sam, how was earlier?  Everything good?' Meghan asked Sam.

'Yes Meghan, everything is good!'  Sam smiled at Meghan.  Meghan wanted to know Samantha more but maybe it is not the time.

'Shall we head back?'  Sam asked.  Meghan nod.  They cleaned up the and went back to the villa. 

'Meg, as you can see there is only one room in the villa please take the room and I will take the sofa bed outside.'  

'No Sam, earlier I already decided to sleep outside and enjoy the wind while we are here.  I kind a love this place.  Do we need to leave early tomorrow?'  

'No, we can stay a bit longer and maybe leave mid-afternoon.  I have no other plans for tomorrow so we can take our time.'  Sam said.

'Ok, go ahead.  I think you need to catch on your sleep.'

'Good night Meghan.' Then Sam retired to her room.

Meghan thought it is going to be a long night and if she wanted to get some sleep she needed some help.  She went to the bathroom and put on the shower.   Then decided to put on her swimsuit and take a dip in the water.  The water seems calm and it would be safe for her to have a quick swim.   She grabs a towel and went down towards the beach.  

Sam just came out of the shower when she heard someone walking down the stairs.  She went out of the room and saw Meghan on her swim suit running towards the beach.  She wanted to follow her but decided to just wait and watch her in case the calm water change.

When she saw Meghan walking back from her swim, Sam rushes back to her room to not let Meghan know she stayed with her.

When Meghan reached the villa, 'She might be sound asleep now',  she thought.  She went to the bathroom and wash up, put on a short and sweatshirt. She switches off the light and lay on the sofa bed.  Whenever she closed her eyes all she can see is Sam's face and her green eyes.
