Chapter 45: A New Beginning
Kesiray's POV It had been three days since we defeated the dragon shifters in a bloody battle where both sides had suffered heavy losses. I was at home, leg propped on a pillow, wings tucked behind me. Since they had broken, I couldn't retract them like usual, but maybe I could eventually. My parents, the queen, and the other leaders were in the Phoenix lands, discussing plans for peace and a way to keep it from now on. I didn't have the energy for it and didn't need to be there for them to settle things. Not that I would have been much help, but my leg was still healing, and the broken wing was making it impossible to fly, though I did try many times to no avail. Thazel had been quiet since her outburst in my hospital room, keeping to her home after my parents had a frank conversation
