Gabriel was in a foul mood by the time he settled into his office in the pack house.
He knew why. Lily hadn’t asked him for much since she’d been here. She asked him for one thing— to come with him today— and it had put an arrow in his heart for him to tell her no. His reasonings for it were accurate. The pack didn’t know about her, and he wasn’t that kind of leader. He needed to call a pack meeting and announce her arrival, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that it would put his mate in more danger.
It had to be done, though. Gabriel sighed and pressed a button on his office phone.
