I grinned as I tested the graphics tablet that I just bought yesterday.
I already sent the application form for webtoon. If they accepted my application and passed the interview, then I'll train on their company, and if it works out, I won't need to work at my part-time jobs.
I turned my swivel chair when I heard soft knocks from my door.
"Seoji, your friends are on the living room.", she said as she peek on the slightly opened door, smiling.
"Huh? But it's Sunday. I thought they're going to hang out?", I asked my mom as if she knows the answer.
"I'd tell you if I know.", she shrugged.
I nodded and stood up, running downstairs.
I'm still wearing my pyjamas, though.
"What wind brought you here?", I asked as I slumped beside Steve.
"We're here to hang out.", Ben said as he shrugged. I wonder if the older guys just brought him here because he looked so bored.
"But why?", I asked.
"It seems like Seoji don't want us here.", Jorge shook his head.
"It's not like that, Jorge. I thought you have plans for today?", I said, uncertain if what I thought was either right or wrong.
"This is our plan for today.", Albert said.
"What are you doing, anyway?", Evan asked as he pulled the digital pen that I was still holding.
I snatched it back from him.
He's still an unfinished puzzle to me. Last time under that tree, I thought I will be able to know who he really is, but he just said,
"I'm from daybreak to dusk, sun to the moon, the yesterday to tomorrow.", I don't know what he was saying that moment, so I wasn't able to reply. He just sighed and stood up, sliding his hands inside his pocket and said, "You're still the same, slow, Seoji.".
He could've just said, "I'm Evan, and I'm blah blah.", so I don't have to think very hard at his left riddle about who he was. I nearly threw him my shoe, but I try not to.
"Starting to practice digital drawing.", I shrugged.
"Is this one of your part-time jobs again?", Kurt asked, as he counted in his fingers how many part-time jobs I have.
He showed all of his fingers of his hands.
I grimaced. He's just exaggerating. I only have four.
"No, Kurt. If I will be hired there, I'll probably just leave my other two part-time jobs.", I said and nodded at myself in agreement.
"Should we go upstairs? I need to finish my scheduled file today and send it tomorrow to complete the requirements for the application.", I asked, which they just nodded. I can't leave them here at the living room, they're my visitors anyway.
I brought snacks and small sandwiches my mom prepared, as the others helped me bring the canned drinks.
I sat back on my swivel chair and continued on working.
One of the requirements for the application is to draw a short strip of my original plot or story.
Which I thought my plot was not a bad idea.
"Wow, what's that?", Albert curiously asked. I was startled because he was too near and I can clearly hear his voice.
"Woah, you're drawing well.", Ruben walked to my side.
I looked at him and Albert, and at my back.
They basically abandoned the television on my room except Evan to watch over my work.
I stood up and covered it.
"Let me do my work, guys. I can't work when someone's watching.", I simply said.
"Okay then.", they shrugged and continued on watching random variety shows.
I can hear Kurt clap like a seal, and Ben's weird laugh.
I covered the screen of my monitor, and said without looking, "I told you not to watch over my work--", I turned my head towards my side and saw a familiar person I've never seen for a while.
I looked behind me to see they are looking weirdly at me.
"Who are you talking to, Seoji?", Jorge asked as he was looking crept out.
I was partly embarrassed and shocked.
I just stood up and glanced at my side, "I'll be back.", I said and walked out of the room, of course, I know that he was following me.
I ran upstairs towards the rooftop, and leaned towards the railings.
"Hi.", his soft voice echoed on my ears.
"Sean, right?", I asked and never met his eyes. "What brought you here?", I asked.
"I'll be asking you straight to the point, alright?", he asked.
Finally, I looked at him from confusion.
"Why are you causing a chaos these days?", he asked.
He's smiling while asking that, so I can't trace any authority or warning, even from his voice.
I don't know, but I find his question a bit funny. I tried to suppress it, I tried my best not to, but I can't.
A bit funny that made me laugh exaggeratedly.
"Me?", I asked and wiped my teary eyes.
"Isn't it the destruction deity's son's job?", I asked.
He sighed and shook his head. He still looked calmed.
"You're causing a chaos, Seoji.", he simply said.
I sighed in defeat. I know he's stressed about me since I'm causing such a chaos because he's the son of peace and balance deity.
"I know. I'm still fixing it, Sean. I promised not to create a huge chaos after this. I just need to fix this thing and then I quit.", I said.
"I know it's hard for you, Seoji. But a person will die no matter what. Humans have due dates, too. Even if you try to save them all, they'll die anyways.", He explained. I know that already. I just can't leave my conscience behind.
"I'm just here because I am concerned, Seoji.", he smiled his famous sweet smile.
"Thank you, Sean.", I said and was about to leave when he held me by my arm.
"That's why I decided to stay here."
