AFFECTION & FAMILY

Mia's Point Of View ...an hour later After being outside for an hour, the guys took our pictures and then went to get their things to leave. I suggested that we stay out here for a little and get inside the pool, to which Sebastian agreed. When I climbed into the pool, Sebastian followed shortly after, half his body in the water. He took a dip before resurfacing and pulled me closer to him. I stood there stiffly, not knowing where to put my hands while his, were on my waist, and he stared down at me with a smile. My eyes shifted to the scar on his chest and my hand reached up to touch it. "What happened to you?" I asked softly. "Just life's cruelty," He told me. "Were they stab wounds or cuts?" I asked, raising my eyes to meet his gaze. "Some were stab wounds, others were cuts. In this life, things happen, and you have to be more careful, but you don't have to worry. I will protect you and your family at all costs. I can promise you that," He said to me. A small smile made its way onto my lips and I hummed, moving my hands up to his shoulders. "Okay, but sometimes you can't save everyone. You just have to learn to live with it," I muttered. He looked at me with kind eyes, and my stomach immediately filled with butterflies. "I won't try to play God, but I will make sure your safety is on top of the list of my priorities," He promised and licked his pink lips, my eyes following the action. "Alright," I responded. He placed his hands under my butt and hoisted me up, causing me to wrap my legs around his waist. I swallowed hard, tightening my grip around his neck. "Relax, I am not going to hurt you." His hand slipped up to my back as he spoke, my eyes averting down to his lips. Before I could talk myself out of it, I leaned forward and pressed my lips against his. My heart fluttered as a rush of serotonin hit my system and I became all giddy. I pulled away for a split second to make sure he was okay with it. His eyes stared back into mine, and he leaned forward, capturing my lips in a breathtaking lip-lock. My arms snaked around his neck as he deepened the kiss. A quiet moan left my lips when he squeezed my ass. He used that opportunity to slip his tongue into my mouth, wrapping it around mine. I moaned, reaching my hand up to grip his wet hair. My mind was rid of every thought and all I could focus on was the kiss I was sharing with this man in front of me. The man who could kiss better than anyone I have met. His kisses made me weak and if I was standing up, my legs would have weakened beneath me. When the kiss started to get too heated, he pulled away and pressed his forehead against mine. Our breaths came out labored, and he slowly slid me down his body for me to stand in the pool. My eyes slowly opened, and I looked up at him, feeling my cheeks get warm. He had a smile on his face and he reached down, pecking my lips softly. "We should talk," He said, softly. Who knew I'd fall for this man's accent? He seems to be the type to talk you out of your panties, just by saying a few words. Every time he speaks, I could just listen to him talk every day. His accent was more Italian than Russian, which was expected because he was born and raised here. Only visited Russia and lived there for 5 years. That's so sexy, I don't know why. "What do you wanna talk about?" I asked, timidly. He cupped my cheek and brushed his thumb against it. "Lighten up, Amore. There's nothing to worry about," He assured me. I smiled and licked my lips. "Well, tell me. You're making me nervous," I admitted. He smiled and cleared his throat for a bit. "I was thinking that you should try to convince your family to make some free time for at least two weeks. If they need money to fill in during those two weeks, I don't mind. I'll reach out to their bosses to get them the free time but ask if they would like to visit. For the wedding and stuff. To be here for you," He told me. "Oh, well, what about my brother? He has school," I reminded him. He chuckled and moved his hand around in the water. "Mia, we're in the modern time now. There are online classes, my love," He reminded me. I hummed and sighed. "Okay, I know I can convince my mama, but she will have to convince my Dad. He is a tough nut to crack sometimes, but he wouldn't pass up the opportunity to meet my fiancé," I said with a smile. "Hmm, alright. I guess I'll have to be on my best behavior then," He said, smiling. I laughed and rolled my eyes playfully. "Maybe you can reel out some of that humor," I joked. The smile on his face disappeared, and he narrowed his eyebrows at me. "My sense of humor is reserved for you," He told me. "Mr. Sebby, I am back!" A voice said, happily. I turned around and saw a little girl standing there with a bright smile on her face. "Sofia, I told you to wait until he gets inside," Stasia scolded. "She's fine, Stasia," Sebastian said, taking my hand and pulling me towards the pool steps. We got out of the pool, and he walked over to the pool chairs and grabbed two white towels before walking back over to me. He wrapped one around my shoulder, and then he stooped before the child, picking her up in his arms. "How are you, sweetie?" He asked, making his way inside. "I'm good. I missed you, and Mommy and Daddy, too," She said to me. I pushed Stasia, playfully. "How come you never tell me you and Luca were a thing? Or that you guys have a daughter together?" I asked her. She laughed and shrugged. "I didn't know if I should have told you. Mr. Genovese likes us to keep our personal life and work separate. However, he adores Sofia," She said as we made our way into the house. "I can see that. How long is she staying?" I asked her. She smiled sadly. "Well, she was staying with Luca's mom, but she's sick now. She fell and hit her head after she passed out. She had cancer and didn't say anything about it," She told me. Tears filled her eyes and rolled down her cheeks. "I'm so sorry to hear that," I said, rubbing her shoulder. She smiled and sniffled. "She is going to stay with me and Luca now, permanently. It's so hard, you know. And Luca can't stay with his mother now because he doesn't know how to deal with her being sick. It's taking a toll on him even more," She explained. "If you like, I can talk to Sebastian for you. Ask him to give you guys some time off," I offered. She shook her head no. "I can talk to him. Despite who he is, he is not a horrible boss. He understands family emergencies, but it will be a little challenging since it's all 3 of us. I don't know how that will work out," She said to me. "I am sure the place can manage without you guys for a little bit," I said with a smile. After taking a shower and changing into a pair of sweatpants and a T-shirt, I went downstairs to find some privacy, so I could call my Mom. It's currently 2:25 p.m. here, so it's 7:25 a.m. for her, and she's usually up by 6 in the morning. I walked toward the garden and took a seat on the bench before taking out my phone to call her. "Mija! How are you?" My Mom asked. "I'm good, Mama. How are you and Dad doing?" I asked. She laughed, making me smile. "We're doing well, Mija. What made you call so early?" She asked me. "Oh, um, I was wondering if you, Dad, and Matteo would like to join me here for two weeks. Sebastian said he'd cover the expenses," I said, biting my bottom lip nervously. "You mean the man you're marrying after you haven't known him for very long? I don't know, Mija. Besides, you know we need all the money we can get to cover Matteo's schooling and how expensive it is. Missing two weeks of work? That doesn't sound like it would be working in our favor, sweetie," She said, softly. "Well, it could. Matteo's tuition for the year, and it's nothing to worry about. Also, Sebastian said he will pay you guys back if you come along. The days you guys would miss work. I'd really love to see you guys at the wedding and I wanted you to help me pick my dress out," I said, playing with the edge of my sweater. "And how will it go? Matteo can't miss his classes, and I'd really love to help," She said to me. "He can take his classes online. I don't know, maybe he could even move here with me for a little bit," I said. "Really?" She asked me. "Just a thought and Sebastian funds one of the Ivy League universities here, and it's the top-ranked in Italy. They offer law courses as well," I explained. "I mean, he can, but you'd have to talk to him about it and make sure it's something that he wants. I'll talk to your father and let you know what we're doing. Let us know what Matteo said. I'm gonna get ready for work, Mija. Talk soon, okay?" She replied. "Okay, I love you," I said "I love you more," She said before hanging up. It's Saturday and Massachusetts is 5 hours behind, so I can call Matteo now. I dialed his number and put the phone to my ear. He answered on the first ring, which made me smile. "Hey, Sis. What's up?" Matteo asked me. "How did you know it was me?" I asked, laughing. "Mom sent me your new number. Why Italy?" He asked me. "I found love," I said, and he laughed. I can't tell him I was kidnapped now, can I? "Well, I'm happy for you. So, why'd you call?" He asked. "What do you think about migrating to Italy?" I asked him.
