Today was... different, but not bad. Everyone was gathered in the big living room after dinner, just enjoying their time. Even the king and queen were here, standing by the bar and sharing a drink while talking to Garrett and Lily. It was strange to see something so normal happen. I was playing a game of pool with Chris, winning, I might add.
“Ah, sh*t,” Chris exclaimed as he made a terrible shot.
I smiled, pleased, getting ready to shoot myself when I saw Kate go over to him, wrapping her arms around him. The two of them smiled at each other as Chris pulled her closer.
“Looks like you’re losing,” she remarked.
