"Why would the king send you to watch over me?" Lilith inquired, her voice filled with genuine curiosity and a hint of suspicion.
Shadow glanced at her, his eyes shimmering with an enigmatic light. "Our king knew that there was a high chance of you encountering one of the heroes, and so he wished to ensure your safety," he responded calmly. "He entrusted me to observe and intervene if necessary."
Lilith's expression softened, her thoughts turning inward as she pondered the king's intentions. "But I thought you despised direct confrontations," she mused, searching for the meaning behind Shadow's involvement.
