My door opened, and Selene stepped inside, her presence as familiar as the morning light. "Morning!"
"I have to do Alpha stuff today, so pick an option. You can help Maria, go with Ember to practice her powers, or get bored watching me deal with my K.O.'d Omega," I said, stretching the stiffness from my limbs.
Her eyes widened slightly, hesitation flickering in them. "Daddy wanted to know if you would join him for lunch."
"Uh, yeah, I can schedule him in," I replied, running a hand through my hair. "I’ve got a tutoring session this afternoon at Alliance Academy, though, so I can’t entertain him for very long."
She frowned, crossing her arms. "Logan!"
Before I could answer, my best friend barged in, saving me from another lecture. So much for them taking time to mourn.
