I let out a sigh and leaned back in my chair. No matter how long Chen Lien and I had been friends, it felt like I could never really understand what was happening in her head. We might as well have been strangers.
"What if I don't treat her right?" I muttered, glancing up at the ceiling with another long sigh. I shouldn't have acted so childishly in front of Ethan and his friends, who had always been decent to me. Not that I could call what they did a real favor.
It was too early to hit the hay, but I felt awkward walking outside. Embarrassed and guilty about my behavior, I just sat on the edge of the bed, staring out the window at the tall trees in the forest.
