"Abi!" Jet yelled. "Abi!"
She laid there not moving. She was warm and wrapped up in her bed without a care, whatever Jet needed was not important right now. She had listened to everything that had happened to him in his assessment. He painted and Queen simply dismissed him. Without saying a word about anything he had done. Rue had, had a pleasant day. She had looked through thousands of comments to see if there was anything that was concerning and when that happened she reported it to Jack. He was intimidating apparently also English from somewhere very different within England to Red, he longed to go back home, but his crimes would not have had him re-conformed simply executed so staying in America was the best way to keep himself safe. Max had been with them at dinner, he had slept for hours and all his muscles were on fire. He was looking forward to the next day when he was running a gauntlet, whatever that meant. She had been there and listened and also shared her experience. They were all amazed that she had been given a phone. One her first day! "ABI! You better answer that damn phone before I throw it at you!" Jet said throwing his pillow at her.
"What the fu-" Her phone was ringing. She looked at the screen 'Red' flashed across the screen. "Hello?" She said answering the phone.
"My office now!" She said hanging up the phone on the other end. Abi felt her heart fall into her stomach when she looked down at the phone again there was a text from Blue.
"This is a code 6: you do not tell anyone what is happening. Get dressed, get down here, say nothing."
She exhaled and got dressed as fast as she could. "What the f**k is going on?" Jet replied.
"I have to go." She just said simply.
"Where? Its 3am!" He said pulling his pillow over his face as she turned the light on to protect his eyes and to help him block the view of his sister just stripping off and dressing as fast as she could. She sat on the end of her bed and pulled her shoes on.
"Can't talk, got to go." She said pulling her phone from the charging port and slipping it into her pocket. "I'll see you later bro, hope everything goes good with Queen." She said kissing the blonde mess of hair at the top of his head and ran out the room to the elevator. She had usually been with either Red or Blue going in the elevator. They had used it on their own when they went to and from the Rec the night before. But she hadn't worked the elevator herself. It seemed easy though. She just pressed the button to the floor of the Tech floor. There was a spark as the pad of the button scanned her finger print and then clicked in. The moment that happened the elevator started to descend. While it went down she pulled her hair into a long ponytail. The door opened and the same long dark corridor was met with her eyes like earlier that very same day. She almost ran towards the door at the end that led to the large communal hacking area. It was not empty, there were a few people hacking and typing away. She walked along the walkway made of scaffold metal towards the two offices.
"Get the f**k out of my office Caro!" Blue's voice came from the office to the far right from the door she was walking towards. A man burst out of his office looking angry. He was not tall but very muscular, well built and very handsome. Dark hair and equally dark eyes. He well chiseled in the jaw and his eyes smoldered even when he was angry. He had a small tattoo on his neck, a very small set of wings. He was in a black button up with short selves that his arms were nearly busting through the fabric. He had a pair of black jeans. He was not as tattooed as anyone else they had seen. He was mysterious, dark handsome and she was drawn to him. Like a moth to light. And as she watched every woman who caught his eye. A lot of men too. He was unfazed by it, like he didn't notice or didn't care. He had a deep and husky voice that when he finally spoke made her downstairs quiver.
"f**k you!" He said walking out in reply to Blue, he pulled a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and lit one slipping the box back into his pocket and catching Abi's eye. "Good evening Miss Moor." She said walking past her with a sly smile. Abi felt something she had never felt before. Attraction to a man. What the hell was that. She had never seen a man and felt anything other than, that's a guy. But she felt something within her that she had only experienced with women. But who was this 'Caro' and how did he know her name. Blue popped his head out of the office.
"Oh Abi, just knock on the door she's waiting for you." He watched him leave as he spoke to her. Abi knew she had only known Blue a few days but she couldn't imagine him get that angry. But it made sense, this place must make people go crazy, being cooped up in here most nights. And people who didn't like each other living, working and socializing together in such close quarters things like this must happened. Clearly Red had an issue with Rai or Daffodil whatever she was called. Abi just knocked on the door and waited.
"Come in." Red said swinging the door open and almost ran down the walk way and walked up to the man called Caro and talked to him in almost privately. He seemed to talk to her calmly and with a casual smile. He placed his hand gently on her arm as he spoke to her his eyes were fixed on her without movement. He lowered his head and laughed, moving his eyes up towards the offices.
"I apologize Blue. Won't happen again." He replied turning to walk away towards the door on the way out. Red turned and walked back towards her office.
"Good evening Solo." She said ignoring the situation that had happened just outside her office. "You need to go down to desk 17b and use this code to log on. Your system has been moved there. When you get online you need to look into the document programmed on there. It's a phone call that we need you to triangulate where it comes from, we have people on the ground ready to go to the location you give them. The quicker you do it the safe the people on the ground are. Go." She said gesturing her to the door and shutting it behind her quickly. Red then walked back into her office and shut a large pair of black curtain across the huge window blocking the whole office from view. As Abi walked down towards the desks in the communal area. As she looked up she saw that Red had popped her head into Blue's office and he followed her into her black-outed office. They were partners, and understanding what had happened made sense. The thought of her creating a bond like that with someone was daunting but theirs had been formed over years. Row 17. Second PC in. It was hers alright, there was painted on the table next to a black 'B' was painted in gold, Solo Moss. She stopped when she saw it. There was a piece of paper slipped under the keyboard that she opened fast.
Dear Abi,
It has come to my attention that you have successfully graduated from the first stages of you assessment with flying colors. Red and Blue have requested that you get your code name early.
Welcome Solo.
From Boss.
She had passed and with flying colors. She had her name, it would stay with her forever now. She was stuck with Solo and she was ecstatic. She pulled the chair out and sit down and pulled the paper that Red had given her out. She logged into the PC with what she was given. On the dash board was all she needed to get to work and that is just what she did. Typed away until she got what she needed to do. There was a phone number on the back on the paper Red had given her. She called it.
"Solo? This is Black Diamond is that you over?" A female voice came from the phones other end.
"This is Solo, the details are being sent to you within second. If you need anything call this number back, over?"
"Absolutely, thank you Solo. Over and Out." She then hung up as Abi pressed the enter button and sent to details over to the phone number of whoever Black Diamond was. Her heart was beating in her chest as she breathed out heavily when there was a text that came through her phone.
"Well done Solo, back to bed for you. This doesn't leave this room not even Jet. Understand?"- Red.
Abi sighed and stood from her desk logging of the PC. She took a photo of the letter from the Boss and the Log on code Red had given her and threw it in the trash on the way out. She was on cloud nine when she went back to bed.
