Assessment with Red

"You ready Abi?" Blue said as they went down in the elevator. "Red is going to test you that's for sure." He said smirking. "I'm not surprised, what are you going to be doing with the rest of your day?" "Work, that's why I am taking you down last as I am going to work." He said pulling his phone out.  "So do you are Red run the tech side of things equally?" Abi asked him looking up at him. "Yeah, why?" "So I will work for you?" She asked simply. "Yes, why?" "When do I get a phone?" She asked, he just laughed and slid his into his pocket. "What?" "Depends on how well you do down there." He replied as they hit nearly the bottom floor. The door opened to a dark dingy corridor with little lighting. He walked down the corridor to a door at the end and opened it to revel something completely different to anything she had seen so far. There were rows of computers and people walking around. Desks upon desks all looking up to many screens around the room. In the middle of the room was a large stair case leading up to a metal scaffolding walk way that led to a door that was to the side of a large glass office overlooking everything. There were two offices, separated by a small wall but you could only see as you got closer. Behind one door, behind one desk was Red. Blue didn't even knock he just walked in.  "Good morning." Red said her feet on the desk. "Thanks Blue, you got some work to do?" "Always do." He said with a quick wink. "Play nice Red." He said walking to the door that was in the separating wall and walked into the office next door. "So Abi," She said standing and walking back out the office. She walked back the direction she had already come and out the large communal space and found there way to a small room off. "In here is everything you could ever need. I want you as part of your assessment, create your set up. What ever you need just make it. You have 3 hours, oh you are making it from scratch." She took her phone out and looked at the time. "If you do it in under 2 you can leave here with a phone. Thank Blue for that. Ready?" She asked. Abi exhaled and nodded. She had only made set ups at school and nothing as powerful as this. In three hours? Possible but hard. "Go." Red said walking out the room. Abi stood in the room, there were computer parts, tools and books all over the room. She started, she didn't know what she was doing. She first took the casing and the parts she knew she needed in advance. She was lost but her hands were moving. She didn't know what she was fixing to what but she knew it would work and she couldn't explain it. She had books that helped her in the finer arts of what she had not done before. She stood there looking down at what she had done so far, she was happy about it so far. She then looked at the rest of what she needed, screens,  mouse, keyboards and the external mechanics. She took smaller screw drivers and started to attach the last few parts of  the set up.It had been what seemed like a few moments when the door had opened again. "That's two hours Abi how have you done?" "Nearly finished." She said with a screwdriver wedged in her teeth while the other one was in her hands. She could hear a small chuckle from Red as she shut the door behind her and walked out. Abi didn't even turn around. It should all work, it should, but it wasn't. Why wasn't it working. "f**k!" She said throwing the screwdriver in her hand at the wall. She took a moment and started to think. She wrote most of her programs on a laptop or tablet, this was beyond what she was used to. So why was she doing it that way, she opened up an old laptop and looked on the inside. "If I just..." She said to herself as she started grabbing parts again and started again. It was almost like a light had gone on in her head and she just started. And within minuets it was working. It was f*****g working. The door clicked open, "I have f*****g done it!" She yelled almost in Red's face. That's when she had noticed on the desk near the door a phone was sat. She had brought it in at the 2 hour mark and had not said anything. "Is that for me?" She asked. "Who else would it be for?" Red asked. "Well I didn't finish it in the 2 hour mark." Abi replied taking the phone in her hand. It was better than the one she had at home. "You did. I never asked for you for anything specific, at the two hour mark your set up would have worked perfectly, you needed perfection, better and I can respect that. You earned it Solo," Red said smirking.  "Did you find any more of my past hacking?" "We will talk about that later." Red said smiling and walking over to her set up pulling out a small USB. she placed it in and pressed a few buttons. After a few seconds the computer had got a blue screen and was making a loud and ear shrieking noise. She then took the USB out and walked to the back of the room.  "What the f**k have you done?" Abi said running to the set up hastily.  "Oh that?" Red said calmly lighting a cigarette and leaning on the desk, "its a Trojan horse." "You did what?!" Abi yelled. "I have just got it working!" "So fix it?" Red said. "I'll be back soon." She said walking out the room. Abi yelled as she left more curse words. Red went back to her office and turned on the TV monitor mounted to the wall and turned it to a channel linked to a camera in the room Abi was working in. "How is she doing?" Blue said walking in the room.  "She's something." Red said exhaling a plume of smoke out as she spoke. "Watch if you want?" She said kicking the other chair out for him to sit on.  "How do you think Jet's getting on?" He asked. "That's not our problem." "Yeah but it is you know that." She didn't respond she just matched his eye line. "He has a lot of anger in him. He's a fighter, he will die for his freedom just like us." She nodded, "Abi isn't like that, we need to make sure he uses his anger in the right way other wise..." "I know." She said coldly. "He's already working with Queen if she see's what we see, she'll want him that's for sure." He nodded looking at the screen. "But we can't stop him if he does decided to join the Pack. You did warn him about them didn't you?" "Yeah I did." Blue said taking a mint from the bowl on her desk pulling his feet onto her desk. "You know they don't trust you." He replied, "Abi said I am like a real person." They both laughed and she took a bottle of water from under her desk and took a sip. "You need to be..." "I know." She said, "when they get their wings." "We may have lost them by then Red." He said looking back at her. "We need Abi, you, me and Joker can not create this system on our own we need a mind like hers."  "Yeah she is something special." Red responded. "Oh, and you're welcome." He said. "For what?" "Lying to the Boss for you." He said taking another candy and put it in his mouth with a smirk. "Arro." She said rolling her eyes. "We need to be more careful, she wasn't as far away from getting in as we made it seem to him." He replied. "That's why we need her Arro, that program she is getting though now, its going to leave a trail, we can follow that trail and see how she got into our system." Red replied.  "Well doesn't look like we will have long to find out, looks like she is nearly done." He replied standing. "What have you got planned next for her?" "I have something planned, that's why she got the phone. 3 numbers are programmed in, your, mine and the Boss." Red replied standing and walking towards the door. "We need to be on call 24/7, now so does she." She smirked almost evilly.  "We need her, Red don't make her dislike you more." "I don't need her to like me or trust me. Just to understand why I am doing this." She smiled, "I like the fact you call me Red when we are work, have I ever told you that?" "You just called me Arro at work. Boss would be mad." He said looking down at her. "We best go, I need your help with something on the system." He added as he held the door opened for her as they walked down to Abi working hard in the room.  "You fixed it yet?" Blue asked smirking leaning against the door frame.  "...Yeah..." Abi replied, "thank God." She said standing. "Only took you 20 minuets." Red said proudly. "Not bad Solo not bad at all. You're done for the day. Take your phone with you, don't let it go dead, and also, no social media and no contacting the outside world." "Got it." "Oh and never let it go on silent." Blue added with a smile. "Okay, have I done good?" "You have done great. Be down here tomorrow at 9am. Got it?" Red asked. "If you need anything mine and Blue's number is programmed into it and the Boss. Only call him when you need him." Abi nodded. "Have a good evening Moss." Red said. "Have fun." Blue said smiling opening the door and watched her go to the elevator. "Do you think she will be able to help us hack the Alliance?" "I think we can teach her to." She replied. "Are you sure Red, we need to do this. Nothing like this has been done before. Hacking the chips nation wide?"  "Globally." "Yeah lets not run before we can walk Red." Blue said sarcastically.  "Us 4 are the only ones who have the nerve to risk something like this." He nodded, "we just need to see if she is willing to risk her life for it. Because if we get caught, we're dead."
