Tech Training

It had been three days since Abi had, had her run in with Cleo and she had managed to avoid her at all cost, she had told Jet what had happened and he was on the edge of his seat. He was baffled why she didn't let her just do it. He would have given his left ball apparently for a lady as hot as her to even be that close to him. He was defiantly an 18 year old boy. Abi had moved in with Rue across the hall from Max and Jet. The rooms were simple, like a dorm room in american college movies from back in the day. There was two beds with a closet that they both shared, they had a TV set up in the middle of the room, a mirror and a door through to a bathroom that had a toilet, sink and shower. That was it. They had a small window that only opened about 3 inches. 

They had tech training, they were all to meet down in the bottom of the headquarters building, they would all be taught how to use the coms system, how to check the maps to make sure that they were being hidden, they would be taught how to apply a hack drone so people in the hacking office can get into security camera's when on Jobs. People like Abi who had more understanding would be teaching others how to do it. They had done two days of Physical training, they had done basic hand to hand training, been taught to fire a gun and gone on a long run. They would then come back to physical training to learn to climb and gain strength. They were also going to be taught codes and how to get in and out of buildings without being seen. They were being prepped for how to stay alive on a job. It was the morning and the four were yet again at breakfast Rue and Max were flirting as per usual, even though this was a daily occurrence nothing had happened between them since Red and Blue's party. They had not seen much of Red and Blue, apparently they were on a job the night before last and had, had the day after off. This was their first day back working and Blue was running the training class today. Even though they hadn't seen them Jet had been texting Blue a lot. Apparently they had a lot in common, and the near 10 years age difference didn't matter, they were like brothers who were separated. 

After breakfast the four of them went down in the elevator to the very bottom. When the elevator opened they were met with the view of the Tech office. Abi's new home. There were a few other new candidates that they had been training with for the last few days. But they all kept in their little cliques. It was strange how even down here it was just the same as school. Blue was stood on the walk way as they group filtered in and sat behind desks with PC's set up one each. He nodded to Abi and waved for her to come up to him. "Morning Solo." He said with a smile. "Ready to get started?" He asked.

"Yeah where is Mona?" She asked.

"Red? We're working." He said with a casual smile. 

"Sorry." 

"Don't worry you will get used to it. I say that she still calls me Arro when no one is around even though she knows better." He beamed and opened her phone. "She has a meeting with King today, she can't wait as you can imagine. He wants to know if we need funding for a project."

"Do you?" She asked.

"Not yet we have something in mind but we need to get our new super star up to scratch before that."

"Super star?"

"You." He replied, "we have a plan but we need your talents to do it and we don't think you are fully ready yet so its on hold." He added, "Hello everyone." He yelled down as everyone jumped to attention. "My name is Blue and I am one of the level 1 in front line tech within the Underground Beta unit. This is Solo she is a second level and will be here to support you in your training in the basic tech that you will need to understand before you are allowed out into the real world on jobs. We will start with the communication equipment that you will all use while on jobs. You will be all given a coms unit," he held up what looked like a small phone that was just a number pad and a small display screen. "The coms unit will link to our online communication system here, you will be able to communicate remotely with members of your team in the field and members of the behind the scenes units from here in headquarters. We will have eyes on you as best we can when you are on the ground but there will be times when that wont be the case and when it comes to that you will need to be our eyes and ears." He said. "We will communicate through hidden mics and earpieces that you will not remove under any circumstances." He said showing a small earbud and a tiny mic with a clip. "You will be first put into pair, half will be using the equipment as you are in the front lines and the others will communicate as if you are on the inside here. Some of you will do this but more than likely this is something that may not happen. But you never know. Sometimes members of a partnership are injured and the other side are in the field because of that a lot of the time you will be here to support your partner." He explained. "You don't have your partners yet I understand, they will either be in the same specialty as you or if the Boss see's a reason to cross the lines he will. My partner isn't here at the moment but she will be in for the session tomorrow." He added. "Solo, split them into teams and give out the equipment, I will explain to the 'front liners' how to work the equipment while you help the behind the scenes get their equipment up and running." He said to her without shouting. "Thanks." He said smiling. "Oh, this is for you." He handed her a small scrap of paper. It was a phone number. "She doesn't like being told no." He said with a smile, "you have her on the line Solo, keep it up." He said with a casual wink. She typed the number into her phone and sent a text.

            "Hi Blue gave me your number?"

It was a few seconds before she had a reply, Abi had not even fully walked down the stairs to the main group of recruits when it buzzed.

    "Well, hello there sweetie." She got in reply.

 Abi knew that it was Cleo on the other end of the phone. She smiled and put her phone in her back pocket ignoring the text. If she wanted more, she would have to work hard for it. Abi split the class into two groups and talked to her half about how the com's worked. After an hour and after a lot of communication from different places and floors within the headquarters building they switched. It was then lunch and as they walked out for lunch Blue passed each person a booklet, "in this booklet is a list of different protocols and codes that you will need to learn of by heart before you can go out on any missions. The first 2 page is what you will be tested on by tomorrow morning, you have from now until tomorrow 9am to have got them memorized by. After lunch you are required in you specialization. See you all tomorrow." He said. "See you after lunch Abs." He said smirking walking up to his office. In the elevator Abi looked at her phone, no new messages.

"Hello Cleo." -Abi

"Took your time."- Cleo

"I was working." -Abi

"I don't like to be kept waiting." -Cleo

"Work comes first." Abi

"Don't worry sweetie its not the only thing that comes first when I get my way. Remember I am waiting for you to stop pushing my imagination." -Cleo 

Abi exhaled heavily slipping the phone into Jet's hand. He glanced down and started to read. "Holy fuck." He said under his breathe. "Sis you need to think of a way out of this." He replied handing her the phone back, "I don't know how you are being so strong in this, I think I would have caved by now."

"I'm close Jet I wont lie." She said slipping the phone in her pocket. "I need a drink tonight I think." She replied.

"We have to learn all the Protocols!" Rue said, "there is no way we are going to be able to learn it all."

"Yeah, well I am sure I have a way to help." Jet asked pulling his phone out and clicking on a name, the phone rung a loud on speaker when Blue answered. 

"Hello?"

"We have a problem?" Jet said.

"Can I help?"

"Abi's little friend is stressing her out and she needs a drink tonight but we need to learn the Protocols by tomorrow."

"She can have a drink, she has the first 5 pages down anyway." He said.

"Kept that quiet." Max said coldly.

"Did you ask?" She replied. He rolled his eyes.

"Look come to Mona and my apartment tonight we will help and we'll have a drink while we go okay?" He said.

"That sounds perfect." Jet replied. "Thanks so much man." 

"No problem, go eat and get to Queen on time, she will have your head otherwise." He replied hanging the phone up.

"Feeling better?" He asked Rue. She just nodded.

"Who's your friend Abi?" Max asked smirking.

"None of your business." She said as the phone beeped in her back pocket, she pulled it out and looked.

"If you need any help in learning your codes, I know a way to help you remember?" -Cleo

"Really and what is that?" -Abi

"You get one right, I'll take something off, you get it wrong, well then I get a treat." -Cleo

"As tempting as that is I know the first 5 pages." -Abi

"Well then looks like I will be naked within minuets then, up for a game?" Cleo 

Abi quickly handed her phone to Jet. His eyes skimmed the phone and passed it back locking eyes with his sister. "You are fucked." He mouthed to her and she just nodded putting her phone away. 

They ate dinner looking over the booklet of codes and protocols. Abi had got more texts from Cleo that she ignored. They all went off to their specialisms and spent the rest of the after noon there. When it got to the end of the day the four of them went up to the 18th floor to Blue and Red's apartment. "Come in." Blue said smiling. "Whats going on Abi?" She handed her phone to him and walked straight to the kitchen and poured herself a glass of wine. "Well to be honest, for her this is tame. She's not turned up to your room naked yet?" Abi nearly spit her wine out.

"No." She said managing to swallow her wine and placed the glass down. "Nothing like that." She said. 

"Well I wouldn't give it much thought the person you do need to talk to about this maybe Mona."

"Yeah she mentioned that they..."

"Yeah they slept together for about 3 months, before Mona started sleeping with Lance and Joker." He said pouring himself a glass of wine. "Not bad from what she's mentioned."

"Has your wife slept with everyone?" Jet asked smirking.

"She was single once Jet. Neither of us planned this, we were meant to just be f**k buddies too, being married was never either of our plans but things happen and here we are three years later." He smiled playing with his wedding ring. 

"Best accident that ever happened." She said walking in and kissing him on the lips. "I like the think about it as you were the only f**k buddy that managed to get past that. You broke my rules." She smiled wrapping her arms around his waist. "Why is everyone here?" She asked.

"Codes and Protocol." Jet said waving the booklet in the air. She nodded with a knowing smile. "Abi is having girl issues."

"With who?" Red asked. Abi handed her, her phone Red just said and nodded. "Yeah that's a classic play. She'll send you a topless pick soon." She said handing it back. She did that to get me to sleep with her, and I never said no like you are. I just well, not sleeping with her as often as she wanted me to." Red replied. Abi blushed, "But she knows that you haven't...." Red started, "she's brutal and horny as f**k but she is kind and will be gentle." She said smiling. "You just have to make your mind up to what you want. She will push but she wont over push, she only is doing this because she knows you want it too. Either let her know you do, or let her know you don't." She added. "Its up to you Hun."

"I have to go." Abi said walking out the door.
