Announcement

"Breakfast!" Rue screamed jumping on Abi's bed. "FOOD, FOOD, FOOD!"

"Would you not?" Abi said rubbing her eyes, "its 7am!" She said looking at her phone. "What the f**k is wrong with you?" 

"I am hungry!" Rue replied jumping back to her bed and flopped down onto the mattress. "Come on get up!"

"We are not needed until 10 what is the rush?"

"No rush, just hurry!" Rue said glancing down at her phone. "Come on!" Abi sat up and looked down at her phone, and saw a text from Blue.

        "Apparently we need to check the system today at 9am, be in my office for them, should only take an hour."

They checked the system a few days before, everything was fine why did they need to run second checks so soon. "Rue?"

"Yes?"

"Do you know something?" Abi asked, "I have to go check our system again at 9am, is something happening?" Rue just smiled, grabbed Abi's hand and pulled her to her feet.

"Get dressed, I'll go wake up the boys!" She said running out the room. Abi took that as a yes and got dressed and braided her hair. She could hear Max yelling at Rue to 'go away and leave them alone!' from behind the closed door. "They are getting ready!" Rue said coming back into their room smiling. 

"I do want kids one day Rue Jesus Christ! She kicked me!" Max yelled from in his room, Jet walked in wearing a pair of PJ bottoms and lent on their door frame.  

"Ignore him." Jet said smiling, "when did you hear about this Rue?"

"A few days ago, I take it you know?" 

"Yesterday." He said a huge smile forming on his face. "I still don't fully believe it and I wont until the announcement at 10am today."

"Announcement?" Abi said. 

"Command got some information a week ago, they informed communications a few days ago and we in Propaganda got told yesterday. A full announcement will be made over the coms unit today at 10am. You will be checking that we are not getting hacked by the outside while it is going on." Jet said smiling. 

"What's the announcement?" Max said pulling a T-shirt on as he walked in.

"Don't worry you'll find out soon, your specialism will be very much on hand." Jet said smirking. "I'll get dressed and we can go for breakfast. Blue and Red will be down there now." He said walking back into the room across the corridor.

After about 10 minuets everyone was ready and headed down for breakfast. Getting their breakfast and sitting at their usual table they were joined by Red and Blue. "So what's the announcement?" Abi asked.

"We can't tell you." Blue said stoically. 

"Why?" Jet said.

"We don't know what it is about. Well we do but not 100% sure as to the who..." Red replied, "we know what is happening but we don't know who." She added.

"I do!" Jet said smirking, "so does Rue!" 

"Tell?!" Blue asked excitedly. Jet lent in and whispered in his ear. "No s**t!" 

"Who?!" Abi and Red said together.

"Sorry baby you'll want it to be a surprise." Blue said leaving a little kiss on her head. "Trust me." He said with a kind smile. "Any idea when?"

"Next week." Rue said.

"Our anniversary is then." Blue said excitedly. "Perfect." He added taking Red's hand in his. "I am sorry baby but I have to go, my level 3 team is coming in soon and I need to be down there to make sure Langs doesn't mess everything up." He said rolling his eyes. "Can't believe you got Abi and I got stuck with Langs."

"I always win love." She said with a flirtatious wink. "See you down there." She said holding on to his hand and kissing the back of it. "I love you Arro," she said placing her lips back down onto the skin of his hand, she ran her thumb lightly over his wedding ring. "Three years." She whispered.

"I love you too Mona, but I am still not going to tell you."

"f**k you." She said dropping his hand pulling a face of frustration. He laughed as he bent down and kissed her cheek. 

"Love of my life, I can tell when you're playing me." He added, "but I don't mind you trying to play me." He kissed her lips lightly and stood up. "See you down there Abs." He said walking away. 

"He knows me too well." She says pulling out a cigarette and nodded to the smoking area. "Jet?" He nodded pulling out his packet and standing. Leaving Abi, Rue and Max.

"They are really cute." Rue said, "like you can actually tell they love each other." She said leaning on her elbows. "Like with my mom and dad I couldn't really see the love you know? But with them its basically smashing you in the face." 

"They have only been married three years though." Max said. He looked down at his phone, "apparently we are being put in partnerships this evening officially. s**t!" He slipped his phone in his pocket. "Lance has just text me."

"Well I will probably be with Rue right that's why we are sharing a room," Abi said.

"But Mona and Arro only lived together later on into their partnership, you tend to be put with people in the same specialism." Rue added. "There both tech, Cap and Axel, Cleo and Rai." She added.

"I hope they don't put me with Langs." Abi said coldly.

It was getting to 9am, Abi arrived in the communal hacking area and walked up to Blue and Red's offices. "What do you need?" She asked simply the moment she locked eyes with Red. She handed her the file.

"Work the team of level 3's through the protocol and make sure that everything is in order. We will need you and Langs working with the other Level 2's when the announcement goes out. We need you to shut down any internal frequencies that maybe leaking to the outside. Blue and I will check external." Abi nodded taking the folder and ran down to the 10 level 3's she was organizing. They worked there ways through the Protocol and just before 10am Abi logged onto her system to monitor internal frequencies along side the other 5 level 2's. Langs, Justice and Romero, three other level 2's that Abi had grown to know were watching over their teams of 10 level 3's intently while also working through the same system Abi was. There were 6 level 2's and the four of them were the most trusted ones, Langs was a d**k and hard to work with but incredibly good. Justice barley talked, only talked about computers and hacking. Romero thought he was more talented than he was, he was good but not anything special. If something happened to either Red or Blue or they stood down for some reason it was common knowledge that their replacement would come from one of the four of them. 

"Ready to go live." Blue yelled out over the hand rail before heading back into his office and a chat log loaded up. All of them were in it. the 40 level 3's, the 6 level 2's and the 2 level 1's all together in one chat to share any suspicious things that could be seen in their systems. There was another name in the chat, working remotely, Joker. Abi's stomach churned when he said 'good morning' in the chat. She could hear him, even though he was nowhere around. She shuddered as a squeak came from the speaker unit in the com's unit that was built into the buildings walls. It was Boss' voice starting with a cough before speaking.

"Good morning everyone. " His voice said diplomatically. "I hope you are all well and working hard, it has been a while since our last announcement and I would like to thank all of you who's specialties mean you have to work through the announcement instead of listening to it organically like intended. We in high command revived notification last week that we will be gaining a guest next week. We will be delighted to play host to The Prophet." He paused, even though everyone was working you could hear the sharp inhale of breath from a lot of people, including Abi. "He will be here, staying within the Beta headquarters before performing in a concert and the level lounge on the Saturday. The Sunday myself and all the level 1's will play host to a meeting with him and his security to discuss movement within the underground. You will be informed via your superiors as to what is needed from you over this time. Thank you and keep fighting." The message ended and the com's shut off. There was no activity within the internal frequencies. Blue and Red shut the chat down letting them know that there was nothing from external either and they were to go to their sessions if they needed to, the 6 level 2's were called into their office. 

"So what a surprise." Blue said giving his wife the side eye. Everyone knew these two were close but Abi didn't know if everyone knew they were married. There was 'rumors' that the two in charge were secretly having s*x. But Abi found it funny, knowing they were happily married. "We have a meeting with the Boss today, we will be finding out our orders, could you also let all your new-bes that after dinner tonight to meet in the training hall at 7pm, partnerships will be given out. Solo you will need to be there." She simply nodded. "Off you go." The six of them left. Leaving Blue and Red alone in his office. He pulled the drapes across the window. "So how do you feel?"

"We get to meet the Prophet!" She said clasping her hands to her mouth. "We get to see him perform and discuss politics with him."

"Yeah you're more excited than I am for that last part," he added. "You know what's  going to happen if he and I start talking about politics." He said leaning back against his desk.

"And so what if it does happen?" She said walking up to him, stepping between his legs and wrapping her arms around his neck. "You are more than just hacking Arro, you have a real gift and I know you want to distance yourself from your family business as much as you can but you are really good. Just do it for us." She said kissing him on the lips. "There are worst things than the Prophet noticing you love."

"I don't want to leave and I will be forced to." He says wrapping his arms around her waist. "Only seeing you every few weeks, that's my idea of hell."

"A few years of hell for a life time of happiness." She said leaning her head against his.

"Do you really think so? We have been fighting this battle for 180 years do you really think the Prophet and I is what it takes?"

"I believe in him Arro." She said simply. "No one has had this vision before. And I believe in you. If all this imaginary conversation actually happened I know you would do it."

"Ich liebe dich mehr als alles andere Baby." Blue said leaning his head against hers.

"Du bist meine Weltliebe," She replied placing a kiss on his lips. He looked at him in his deep brown eyes and smirked.

"What?"

"Office s*x?" She said laughing.

"Really? We are meant to be working!" He said.

"Meeting with the Boss isn't for an hour?" She said looking at the clock in the room. "I'll go on top"?

"Deal." He said lifting her up onto his seated position on the desk and kissed her passionately.
