Chapter2:First Impressions

1205 Words
Sophia’s POV “Heavenly” he told me I looked heavenly. I don’t think he meant to say that out loud. Yesterday feels like a dream. But everytime I look at the drawing, I realise it wasn’t. What are the odds I get drawn by a random stranger. A hot random stranger. I’ve been thinking about him all morning. Marla walks in and plops down on my bed right next to me. “So, how’d you sleep?” she asks. “Good. Why do you ask?” “I don’t know. You sure you didn’t dream about the strange artist?” She says grinning from ear to ear. She’s teasing me right now. I hate being teased. “Bro!” I say giving her a playful shove. “Of course not. I just met the dude.” “Whatever you say.” She clearly doesn’t believe me. “I need to get ready for the day. I’ve been laying here recollecting last night.” I say getting out of bed. “Ah so daydreaming.” Marla says laughing and walking out. “Dude!” I yell before the door shuts behind her. I was about to get in the shower when I hear my phone ringing. It’s an unsaved number. Should I pick up? I’m not allowed to pick up strange calls because it could stalkers. But my guts telling me to do it. I did. “Hi” I know this voice. Tyler Roe. He’s probably calling about the digital copy of the drawing. “Hey Tyler. Got the copy?” I reply. He doesn’t reply for a second. “Funny story actually”. He replies,”It got lost” “You don’t say. How’d that happen?” “Uhhh, a virus.” Does he think I’m stupid? “Are you lying to me right now?” I laugh a bit. “Maybe…” he replies “Not funny Tyler” It was kind of funny.. “I’m sorry, okay. I just wanted to talk to you.” It took me about a minute to grasp what he had just said. I had to play it cool tho. “About what, Tyler?” Smooth right? “Nothing in particular. I just like talking to you” he replies. He what? Here I am again, blushing so hard over a total stranger. “So there is no digital copy. Damn okay liar.” I say jokingly. “Who are you calling a liar princessa?” “Princessa?” “Isn’t that Spanish for princess?” He replies sounding confused. A nickname? He’s sweet. “It is. It just caught me off guard” “I won’t call you that if you don’t want me to” he say reassuringly. “No no. I really love it” I reply I really do. His voice is calm and his accent is lovely. I could listen to him talk over the phone all day. “Okay so tell me about yourself” I ask to keep the conversation going. “I’m quite the boring English man” he replies “So you eat fish and chips all day or something?” I ask jokingly. He bursts out laughing. So do I. “I actually hate fish and chips” he replies. “I’ve never met an English man that doesn’t like fish and chips” “Now you have” he say. I want to know more. “Tell me anything about yourself” I ask. “Okay. I’m twenty-five. I’m from England. I’m an artist, obviously.” “Obviously,” I say while laughing. “What else?” “Hm hold on princessa. Let me think.” “Take your time” “I like coffee and I value family” There’s some silence for a moment. “Is that all?” I asks “Like I said, I’m pretty boring.” “Tell me about your family then.” The call goes silent for a moment. He finally replies. “We don’t come from much. That’s why I moved to Spain for work” “Oh… I’m sorry” My voice is low and apologetic. “No no no, don’t be. It’s okay” There is silence on both ends as I fiddle with the phone in my hand.. “Okay, your turn.” He says to fill the silence. “My turn?” I reply “Yep. Tell me anything about yourself.” I go quiet. “What do you want to know?” I finally ask. I almost ask about the palace. “What are your interests?” I can’t tell him too much about myself. “I love horses.” “I already know this. We did meet at the races.” He replies I laugh. “When I saw you, you looked so fascinated with the horses.” He says. He noticed. “I love that you noticed Tyler” “Of course.” “What else? Do I need to know about you?” He adds. “Well there aren’t many layers to me.” “The heiress of Spain? Unbelievable.” “All I do is go to balls, events, and perform duties. Boring.” “Sounds like you need a little spice.” He replies “You can be the spice.” Why did I just say that? In this moment, all I know is him “I’d be honored.” “Tyler,” I say. “Yes princessa?” “Why did you really want to talk to me?” “I don’t know.” “Liar.” We both laugh. “When can I see you?” He asks He wants to see me. Should I agree? We just met. But I would love to. “Whenever you want to.” “Tomorrow then.” “I‘ll take you somewhere nice.” He replies. He doesn’t need to. It’s too much to do for a girl he just met. “But you don’t have to. I mean we’re just getting to know eachother and-“ “I said I’ll take you somewhere nice. No but’s okay?” He shoots back. “Be ready at 5 okay?” “Alright Ty. Don’t be late.” Did I just give him a nickname other than liar? “Ty. I love it.” My cheeks are flustered at the other end of the phone. “I’m assuming you know the way to the palace ?” I ask. “The whole country does. Would your parents be home?” He asks. “I wouldn’t mind meeting them.” My parents can not know that I'm interacting with this stranger just yet. “Just don’t worry about them okay? You can meet them when I’m ready to tell them about us” I say. “Ofcourse princessa.” He can tell I’m holding back. “Where are you taking me?” I ask. “It’s a surprise.” I love surprises. I giggle. “I’ll see you tomorrow then. Bye Ty” “Bye princessa. 5 o’clock don’t forget.” I feel something deep for this man. I can tell he does too. I want him.
