Chapter 4

1836 Words
Emily’s POV: I can’t believe Justin. I am literally trying to apologize to the two of them and he has a girl sitting in his brand new room. I know that nothing happened because he was only in there for a few minutes, but that doesn’t mean anything. I know he has a past, but I thought that would stop when I embraced the fact that he was my mate. I guess not. Hunter was leading us to the facility but my anger towards Justin drove me to walk faster than the two of them. I could hear them practically jogging to keep up with me, but I really don’t want to slow down. I get to the doors of the facility and stop. I turned around to face the boys and let out a breath I didn’t realize I was holding. “Are you guys going to be okay?” I ask, trying to sound less mad than I felt. Justin pants and bends over while looking up at me with one eye closed. Hunter takes long deep breaths through his nose, clearly trying to hide the fact that he is winded. “Of course, why wouldn’t we be okay?” Hunter asks. “You both look like walking behind me was a struggle.” I sarcastically reply. Justin rolls his eyes and stands up straight. “Let’s just say, you being a True Alpha makes you walk a little faster without getting tired as fast as we do.” He puts his hands on his head and I shoot him a look. “Maybe if you wouldn’t have girls in your room, I wouldn’t have to walk so fast.” I snapped at him. “She was just there. No clue how she got in, but I promise. Nothing happened.” He slowly brought his hands to his side and he looked me in the eyes. “Mm. Whatever.” I say, spinning back towards the door. I push open the door and immediately get pelted in the face by a ball. I fall on my butt from the surprise of the ball hitting me. I should have expected it honestly. “I was just about to come check on you.” Elijah says. I look over at him and he stands with a satisfied smile on his face. Both of the boys rushed to help me up, and I let them. It’s nice to have them both ready to help me whenever I need them, even if I don’t necessarily need their help. Once I am on my feet, I pick up the ball with my mind and chuck it at Elijah, who easily dodges it, but when I pull it back, I hit him in the back of the head. He glares at me and I pump my eyebrows at him. “I decided to talk to them before doing anything rash.” I say, walking over towards Elijah. “Ah, I see since both of them are following you around again.” Elijah shuffles on his feet and points to both of the boys. They stop following me for a second and look at each other. I just smile and shake my head. “So, I take it I will need to work extra hard in the next training session since I missed this morning?” “As always. I expect you to have mastered the senses training we have been working on as soon as the next training begins.” He says sarcastically as he pops his fingers. “Har har.” I say, rolling my eyes at him. “Just wanted to come back and check in with you so you know I didn’t run off. We were just about to grab some lunch, do you want to join us?” “Actually, I would love a bite to eat.” He looks at me with a small smile on his face. “I can give these fella’s the best friend talk.” We all turn and go back towards the chow hall. I am a bit more calm with my walking this time, so no one gets left behind. I can still tell that there is tension between the boys, and I hope that we can work through it, but I also am understanding that it will take time for us to get back to normal since I basically ignored them for a month. But they seemed to understand it when we talked. I just hope they can forgive me. We quickly grab our plates and pick a table to sit at. The boys get to their seats before I do, and I saw the look on that Rebecca chick as the boys left a seat between the two of them. I quickly grabbed the rest of my food and walked over to the table before she could get to the seat. As I sat down, the look on her face was absolutely priceless. “This b***h! Who does she think she is!” Rebecca practically was yelling in her head. I just smiled and looked around the table like nothing happened. Elijah took his seat beside Justin and soon, the whole table was filled with our friends. They all took kindly to Elijah since he first arrived. No one really saw him as a big bad vampire, and just kind of saw him as someone they could trust. It didn’t take long for me to eat since I was starving. It felt nice to eat with everyone again. “So, Emily. Have you decided when you will be learning how to drive?” Marley asks from across the table. I raise my eyebrows at her while I finish chewing my last bite of chicken. I quickly take a drink of my water and clear my throat. “Well, I am not even sure I should learn how to drive. I mean, it’s not like I will ever really need to learn. And besides, I don’t even have a car.” “Oh, come on. Don’t you want the freedom to just leave whenever you want to?” Marley asks just before taking a bite of mashed potatoes. “I…” I started to answer but got cut off by the sound of someone screaming my name. “EMILY!” Vicky screams as she is in a full blown diva walk towards me with Melissa following right behind her with tears streaming down her face. “Oh good lord, what does she want?” Starla says, sounding annoyed but doesn’t stop eating her food. “No clue.” I reply and turn in my chair to face my sister. “You b***h!” Vickey slaps me across the face. Hunter and Justin both jump from the lunch table, but stop when I look at them with my hands out. “Why can’t you leave any of them for the rest of us!” She screams in my face. Every inch of my body is telling me to just throw her across the room. “How could you?” Melissa is crying behind Vickey. “I thought we were sisters!” “You are the worst sister anyone could have ever asked for! Not like I asked for you anyways.” Vickey says with a snoody tone. “Enough!” I shout, standing from my seat. “I haven’t the slightest clue what you are even talking about.” “Like you don’t know.” Melissa pushes Vickey aside and gets in my face. “No! I just said that I don't have a clue what is happening.” I look her in the eyes and say. “You just had to have two mates, didn’t you. Both of which are the guys I’ve been trying to get with since before you ever were even a thought in this pack's mind. So, why don’t you just go back to where you came from.” Vickey looks me in the eyes with a straight face. “I never wanted another sister. I was just trying to act happy for father.” Melissa adds with a sob. I roll my eyes and sit back down. “Hey! We are talking to you!” Vickey shouts and grabs hold of my arm, yanking me out of my chair. I plant my feet on the ground and look her in the eyes. “Back off, Vickey.” I growl. She raises one eyebrow at me and bobs her head. “Make me.” I can feel the power growing in my fist as I shut my eyes and force myself to walk away. “That’s what I thought.” Vickey snobbily says. I can hear chairs screeching on the floor behind me and the footsteps of people following me. I don’t really care where I go, but I wanted so badly to get away from all of the eyes staring at me. I walked down the hallway to get to my room and ran right into the wicked witch herself. “Oh, why hello there step-daughter. What a surprise it is to see you here.” She gives me a snarling look and rolls her eyes. “What do you want Kate?” I growl. My nose burns as I inhale, the scent of alcohol is very pungent. “Oh, you know what I want.” She looks directly at me with a look of absolute disgust. “You just had to go off and become the hero of the day, saving those poor boys, didn’t you? You are the reason they were even in danger to begin with. Now my daughter and little Avena are left with no one to go for. I mean, who are they supposed to mate with?” She takes a big deep breath and tries to tear up in front of me, but she can’t seem to get herself to fake cry right now. She whips her hair to the side and motions for me to move out of her way before pushing her way past me, angrily stomping off. I can feel my fingernails dig into the palms of my hand as I stand here. Kate and those witches she calls her daughter have about drove me up a wall. I hear Justin and Hunter as they move out of the way of the queen of mean. I turn on my heels to face them. “Are you alright?” Hunter asks, reaching his hand out to me. He rubs my arm but quickly pulls his hand away when he hears me growl. “No, I’m not okay!” I shout so loud, the pictures on the wall rattle. “My father married that pathetic excuse for a Luna, and her daughters think they own everything!” I spin on my heels and start marching towards the stairs. “Wait. Where are you going?” Justin asks. “To talk to my father.” I growl.
