CHAPTER 08 ~LUCAS POV~ Hours after I laid Allison on the bed in her room, she opened her eyes and fluttered her lashes multiple times before staring at me, “Where am I?” She asked faintly while I was seated close to her, “Where you should be, my Mansion.” She sat upright on the bed afterwards, drawing the duvet close to her body, “I'm sorry. I'll leave as soon as I can walk again, Lucas.” I let out a deep breath staring at her and feeling bad that I had pushed her away earlier. I couldn't deny that I hated seeing her this way no matter how much I wanted to hide what I was feeling for her, “Stay as much as you want, Allison. No one is throwing you out.” I said, and rose to my feet, but she grabbed my arm, staring at me with those eyes again. Those soft eyes that I had fallen for ten years ago “Not you too. I really don't want you looking at me with those pitiful eyes just like everyone else.” I raised my brows at her, staring and wondering what she meant by that. Then, I remembered what I had seen in that house–they weren't treating her right, all these years, they were treating her right. I used to think Allison had built herself to endure so much pain and there was no limit to what she could take, and that was why she was still with Liam, but maybe I was wrong. Maybe there was really a limit to what she could take, “I'm not like them, Allison,” I said, I hadn't expected what happened next but she immediately broke down in tears, her whimper masked with so much pain. Maybe she had wanted to do this for a long time but had been holding back. I really didn't realize that she had been holding back so much pain all these years, and I forced myself to believe that she just let them step all over her because she wanted it that way. Every day, I saw how she tried her best to please Liam, even if it was at the expense of her own happiness, and even though I loved her, I hated the kind of person she was. But, I judged her so quickly. “What is your plan, Allison?” I finally said as I couldn't watch her cry anymore. I hadn't expected it to hurt this much seeing her this way, teary, in pain, scarred deeply, broken, I didn't believe it would hurt, but it does, it does so much more than I could imagine, “I just want them to pay for hurting me this much.” She said, her voice so faint, like a whisper, and I reached for her hand, holding it in mine and squeezing it a little, “Is that all?” She stared at me, silent, and it made me wonder what she was thinking about. Was there something more important than making them pay for hurting her? “My parents.” She paused, and her eyes darkened a little as she continued, “My real parents, I want to find them even if they're dead.” I nodded my head, but couldn't let her know that I had already been on it for a while now. She would ask me, and I had no answer to give her because Allison couldn't know about my feelings for her yet. She didn't like me, I could see it, and forcing my feelings down her throat at this point in her life would be stupid. “If we're going to do this, we need to set up ground rules.” She raised her gaze to me, and her brows arched a little while staring at me, “Ground rules? What do you mean?” “I mean I'm going to help you, Allison, but there will be rules.” At least I was certain these rules would help me keep my feelings for her in check until I'm able to finally let it all go. “Do you mean a contract?” I nodded my head, “Once these four months are over, you'll leave the pack to someplace far and safe from my father and I'll ensure that no one hurts you ever again,” I said, I expected to hear a reply, but instead, she remained quiet, staring at me like I had said something out of order or out of context. Her lashes didn't flicker and then I knew that she was thinking about something. “But how do we convince everyone we're in love?” I smirked at her, knowing I had that all planned up in my head and liking that for four months, she would be all mine. She might not remember me ten years ago, but I do. I never forgot, not even for a single day. “You'd just have to follow my lead, Allison,” I replied and rose to my feet, heading towards the table. I picked up the paper on a file and headed back to her bed, “Here, you should read it. If there's any question you need to ask, then you can ask me.” She collected the paper from my hand, and then raised her head back at me after reading the content, “When did you have the time to prepare this?” “While you were asleep. It's a secret only you, I, and a friend know about. Whenever you're ready to sign it, then you can, and you can have all the revenge that you want through me, Allison. I'll show you what it's like to be stronger.” I said, and turned around to leave. Once I was out of the room, I took in a deep breath and tucked one hand into my pocket, heading towards the room, As soon as I got to the living room, Liam rose to his feet and immediately raced towards me, but before he could throw a punch at me, I dodged it, throwing a punch instead which sent him crashing to the ceramic center table with a loud groan.
