Alex's POV
"Where is the wound Alex?" Jace asked again and I turned to look at my hand and gasped!
The wound on my hand had completely vanished and if not for the blood that stained my shirt then I would have definitely thought I was just hallucinating.
I clearly wounded myself and now it was gone completely. I raised my eyes and looked at Jace in shock unable to make out any word.
"Alex, are you even human?"
"What?? Of course I'm human what's that supposed to mean?" I retorted feeling a little angry.
"So how can you explain this?" Jace asked raising his brows at me.
"I- I- I really don't know" I stuttered still in shock.
"Let's leave here first, it's not safe." He grabbed the first aid kit and helped me up. I limped a little due to the fall. We walked in silence all the way back to the school.
A very uncomfortable silence.
I wondered what Jace could be thinking. Does he believe me, does he think am lying.
Gosh I don't know what's going on with me right now. How could my wound just heal on its own or did it have something to do with those wolves? Gosh this is frustrating.
We reached the school and we found an empty class room. I leaned tiredly on the desk and sighed.
"Has this ever happened to you before?" Jace asked sitting beside me.
"Errm no."
"Have you noticed anything strange about yourself lately?"
"No." Except for the fact that I'm falling for my own twin sister, I added in my head wordlessly.
"Alex, I don't think you are human."
"What?? No no no I am human."
"That's the only logical explanation for all these, I mean what kind of human heals himself within a few minutes?"
I stared at Jace wide eyed as I pondered over what he said.
"So what do you suggest I am then?"
I asked raising my brows. I mean of course I am a human, the fact my wound healed itself doesn't mean anything.
It could be that it was one of the wolves that-
"I-I think you are a werewolf!"
My head rocks back and I stare at Jace. The shock I felt a while ago returning with more viguor.
After a second that feels like eternity.
I throw my head back and laugh humorlessly staring at Jace all the while hoping he joins me and admits he was just kidding but his face remains serious as he stares back with an unreadable expression.
“Okay, you're kidding right?”
Those words kept playing in my head. Like what the f**k. Me a werewolf, how?
"Jace, I can't be a werewolf."
"Listen Alex I know this is hard but you are a werewolf, at least according to the things I have observed." He said with a shrug.
"What things?"
"Errrm" He scratched his head. Ok. What's going on.
"Jace, what's going on, what are you hiding from me?" I asked suspiciously.
"Listen the scent you perceived on me today, that- that was my wolf. I am a werewolf."
He paused and looked at me to see my reaction. I stared at him wide eyed.
What the hell is going on today?
"And only a supernatural being can actually detect the scent of a werewolf." He continued. "That and the fact that you healed yourself and even though it's faint, I can also perceive a scent on you. It's really faint and I only noticed because I paid close attention to it."
"So you were the grey wolf."
"Yes." Jace replied calmly.
"What of the other wolf, the black one?"
"Probably just a rogue wolf."
I take a minute to process what I just heard but damn this is all so crazy and so hard to accept.
"So what happened, why did you get so angry?" I asked and he sighed tiredly ruffling his hair.
"Cuz I was jealous ok. Brianna is my mate and that stupid Jake was all over her. I couldn't control my anger. I had to shift into my wolf. That's why I ran out."
I pause for a second, trying to gather my thoughts and let all these sink in.
"So why did you keep everything from me Jace? Why? I thought we are friends?" I asked feeling hurt.
"I'm sorry Alex, we aren't supposed to reveal our existence to humans."
"Gosh. Jace this is too much for me to take in. My entire life has being normal. My parents are normal. Even... Wait, what of Abi, I mean she is my twin, so could she be a werewolf too?"
"I'm not sure." He shrugged.
"My God. What's all this? What's going on? I can't even think straight." I ran my hands through my hair frustratingly. "But Jace my parents are humans. How is it possible for them to birth a wolf.
"I'm also confused here okay? But don't worry we will figure it out. Who knows we might be mistaking. You need rest."
I run my fingers through my hair tugging hard at the strands.
No, this isn't happening. This can't be happening, my whole life couldn't have been a lie.
