Alex's POV

"Did you change your perfume?"

I asked Jace who was busy stuffing his face with Spaghetti. It was time for lunch break and we were both at the cafeteria.

"No,I don't use perfumes."He said chewing his food slowly.

"Really?? But you smell different today, somehow like a mixture of vanilla and cheese."

I said and his fork froze midair. He gave me a look of surprise and then of suspicion but he quickly covered it and then made to say something but stopped.

I noticed something had caught his attention so I turned to look and my eyes landed on Abi.

She looks so beautiful, even though I had seen her that morning it felt like she looked even more beautiful by the second.

I always find myself thinking about the kiss we shared the other day. Her soft lips on mine, my tongue exploring every corner of her mouth while holding tightly onto her waist and caressing her......

Gosh I'm a total mess right now, how can I be thinking all this about my own twin. I have tried so much to avoid her but instead of helping it's making things everything worse.

Now here I am admiring her all over again.

I was so focused on staring at Abi that I didn't see that Jace had already left our table and was now in an argument with Jake.

Before I could even comprehend what was happening he dragged Jake from the table and started delivering blows to his face.

I quickly got up and tried dragging him away but he wouldn't budge.

He got off him after a while and stormed off. His eyes looking pitch black. Or was it just my imagination?

I ran after him trying to figure out what was wrong with him. I quickly went to the direction I had seen him take but couldn't see him.

Funny enough I could still perceive his scent from earlier.

I followed the scent of cheese and vanilla and found myself in a secluded part of the school.

It looked more like a forest but that's where his scent was coming from, so I entered the woods despite the gnawing feeling at the pit of my stomach.

I walked around the woods for a while looking for Jace and shouting his name every now and then but there was still no trace of him.

I stood still confused as to what was happening.

Why was he so angry, I have never seen him so angry before.

Does he like Brianna? But he has never shown any kind of feelings towards her before.

And even if he liked her, why would he go to the extent of fighting Jake simply because he sat with her.

I could have sworn I saw his eyes change to pitch black or maybe I was just imagining things.

I stood there lost in my thoughts when I heard some ruffling behind me and then a low growl.

I stilled in fear, goosebumps spreading all over me.

What was that? An animal?

I slowly turned around and gasped in shock.

A wolf, a huge black wolf stood there looking at me like I was his runaway lunch.

I swallowed hard.

I never knew wolves were this big and I thought they are wild animals how could one be here now.

I turned round and took to my heels. I looked back and discovered the wolf was after me.

Panic and fear overtook my senses and I ran blindly and with the kind of speed I didn't know I exhibit.

'I can't outrun a wolf!This is certainly the end of me!' I thought.

I tried to look behind me at the wolf when I tripped on a stone and fell face flat.

I quickly turned around and saw the wolf slowly advancing towards me but it was damn too late to get up. I crawled back in fear, breathing hard.

Oh my gosh is it gonna eat me? This is definitely the end of me.

It raised its huge paw to s***h my neck and I closed my eyes accepting my fate but it never came.

Instead another huge grey wolf jumped out of nowhere and pushed the black wolf off me.

My eyes widened even more. This wolf is much bigger than the black one. It has thick grey fur on it's skin with yellow eyes that glowed dangerously.

He engaged the other wolf in a fight but clearly the grey was much bigger and overpowered the black wolf with ease, it quickly backed off, disappearing into the woods.

The huge grey wolf turned and assessed me, its glowing yellow eyes looking down at me for a while before it disappeared running off into the woods.

I stayed still for a while in shock. I still couldn't believe all that just happened.

"Alex!!" Jace called running to me with a look of concern on his face."Are you okay? What happened ?"

He asked, his eyes and hands roaming over my body but I was too shaken up and still couldn't process everything I just saw.

I looked at my hand and discovered I was wounded and bleeding heavily.

Jace noticed as well and stood up to go get a first aid kit.

I wanted to get up but somehow the fear seemed to have paralyzed my limbs so I simply lay there waiting for Jace to return.

He returned with the kit and crouched down to help me clean the injury.

He started to clean off the blood when he suddenly froze his hand hanging mid air.

"A-alex, I thought you were injured," He looked up at me his face mirrored my own confusion. " But there is no injury, it's completely gone."
