Chapter Eighteen - New Guy (Pt.2)

Sam's POV It was good that I left the cafeteria and had about thirty minutes to spare. This gives me enough time for Vanessa to interrogate me. When I entered the room, Vanessa was already standing by my chair with her arms crossed. Clearly waiting for me to tell her everything that happened when she left. "Alright, spill the beans Sam. The suspense is killing me!" She shrieked. "But I haven't even got to sit yet!", I grinned. "Oh c'mon! Spill it out already! I left you there so it wouldn't be that awkward to just stare at his handsome face while you two were talking!" she sighed. This is what I hate about Vanessa, she wants to know all the details, even if it's not really necessary. And I don't like other people nosing in the area. "Well?", she said still trying to squeeze the gossip out of me. "Okay, okay! Geez!" I finally gave up. She clapped her hands so fast like a giddy child on Christmas morning, ready to open presents. "Okay, so we talked." "And?" "He told me that the class where he was at in fifth grade was just a room away mine." "And?", Vanessa isn't satisfied with my answer. "And that he had noticed me even before. He transferred about a year ago." I said. "He didn't had that much friends so he asked around about me and that's how he knew I liked roses and cherry blossoms." "Aww... That's so sweet!" she declared. "Don't you think it's a little bit creepy that he did that?" "Creepy? No! Why would you say that?" "I don't know. He said he would often pass by the room to check me out, to see what I was doing." "Aww... That's still so sweet!" Vanessa wasn't getting it. I could see the sparkle in Vanessa's eyes. She was more excited than I was. "And by the way, he speaks French." I had to admit, I was impressed! "As-in he can fluently converse in French as if he grew up in France!" "Eeeeek! Definitely a keeper, Sam." I've never seen Vanessa so thrilled! "You're overreacting, Ness. We just talked. He didn't said anything about courting me, you know." "But he gave you flowers... on Valentine's Day.." Vanessa was clearly trying to make her point. "Surely that was his way of saying I really like you and I want to court you, would you accept these flowers? kind of thing?" "Wow! Now you're jumping into conclusions, Ness. Let's not do that." I attempted to change the topic. "How about you and I check our Biology report to make sure we've got everything covered?" She made a face. "You are impossible, Sam." I just smirked. -o- Zen's POV It was Valentine's Day yesterday. I bought some roses for Sam, I knew she liked them. As soon as I entered the room and saw here there, I started to approach her with a bunch of roses that I was holding behind my back so she won't see it. The room now smelt a mix of roses, cherry blossoms and vanilla. I didn't noticed she was carrying a lot of flowers with her. Then by a split second, Mel grabbed my attention to hers and gave me a firm kiss on the lips. She was excited that day. I could see Sam just rolled her eyes to what Mel did. "Aww, for me baby?" asked Melody when she eyed the roses that were behind my back. "Uhm.. Yes baby, these are for you." I faked a smile. "Why, thank you baby! I love them!" "I...I'm glad you love them. Ha..H-Happy Valentine's Day, baby!" I gave her a hug. I tried to sound as genuine as I could. But I was still distracted at Sam. "Happy Valentine's Day too, babe!", she planted another kiss on my lips. I watched as Sam talked with Vanessa, she was handing over the other roses that she had, she obviously was having a hard time carrying them all. "What's wrong baby? You okay?" asked Mel as she rubbed my temple. "Headache." I frowned. "Come here, let me fix that." Who would've given her a bunch of flowers and some cherry blossoms? Some punk gave her flowers way ahead of me! I know I should've come to school early! I didn't have a headache, I lied. I was just upset at the thought of somebody else who gave flowers to Sam. That person must've really liked her to have done something special like that. What if Sam liked him or her too? I grumbled under my breath at the thought. Today I stayed inside the room while everybody else had lunch elsewhere. Mel wasn't in. She had band practice and when that's the case, she's exempted to join the class. I took a sip of my soda in can after eating my lunch. I placed my head on my arm-chair and placed a face towel on top of my head so I could get a nap. Class won't start again until one in the afternoon, I still had forty-five minutes to get some shut-eye. I heard somebody enter the room, I could care less because it didn't smelled like Sam. Ten minutes later, I then heard another person enter the room. "Alright, spill the beans Sam. The anxiety is killing me!" As soon as I heard her name, my heart did a summersolt. Here we go again. "But I haven't even got to sit yet!", Sam replied. "Oh c'mon! I left you there so it wouldn't be that awkward to just stare at his handsome face while you two were talking!" HE? Are they talking about a guy? A good-looking guy? "Well?", said Sam hesitating. I wondered if she noticed me "sleeping" or if she knew I was there? "Okay, okay! Geez!" Sam gave up. Vanessa clapped her hands fast like a humming bird's wings flapping! "Okay, so we talked." "And?" replied Vanessa "He told me that the class where he was at in fifth grade was just a room away mine." Hmm. My class was a room across hers so that was an advantage! Ha ha ha! Touché, mate! "And?", Vanessa was clearly trying to make Sam spill every detail. "And that he had noticed me even before. He transferred about a year ago." Sam said. "He didn't had that much friends so he asked around about me and that's how he knew I liked roses and cherry blossoms." Cherry blossoms. Wow! Those are expensive! Must be a rich kid. And wait, he ASKED AROUND? What a creep! "Aww... That's so sweet!" Hmm. A stalker, aye? "Don't you think it's a little bit creepy that he did that?" Yes, Sam. That's right! It's creepy. You better stay away from him! Stay away! God! It's starting to feel incredibly hot even if the room was well-ventilated. "Creepy? No! Why would you say that?" "I don't know. He said he would often pass by the room to check me out, to see what I was doing." That punk! Why would he do that?? Stupid stalker! "Aww... That's still so sweet!" THERE IS NOTHING SWEET ABOUT A GUY WHO KEEPS ON PASSING BY THE DOOR JUST TO CHECK YOU OUT, I wanted to scream that out loud to Vanessa's ear so she'd realize what she was saying and so she'd go deaf! What a useless friend! I huffed. "And by the way, he speaks French." Sam sounded impressed. "As-in he can fluently converse in French as if he grew up in France!" Uh-oh. That's not a good sign. He now has a one-point advantage over me! "Eeeeek! Definitely a keeper, Sam." Vanessa was thrilled! French? Who studies French in this day and age? What's in is Old British! English! URGH!!! "You're overreacting, Ness. We just talked. He didn't said anything about courting me, you know." Courting. It just hit me. Then my neck started to hurt. I had to move very, very slowly so they won't notice me. "But he gave you flowers... on Valentine's Day.." Vanessa paused. "Surely that was his way of saying I really like you and I want to court you, would you accept these flowers? kind of thing?", Vanessa explained. Buying someone flowers is not a way of saying they want to court you!!! Although, come to think of it, I did gave Sam a rose when-- Urgh! Cut it out Zee! Get youself together! "Wow! Now you're jumping into conclusions, Ness. Let's not do that." Yes, Sam. You're a smart girl. Don't jump into conclusions. Right! "How about you and I check our Biology report to make sure we've got everything covered?", Sam changed the topic. That's my girl! I wish. Sigh. "You are impossible, Sam." It was just then other students came pouring inside the room. That was my chance to get the hell outta here. I need fresh air. My eyes were cloudy. I am definitely jealous. Who does this guy thinks he is? I need to find out who it is. As soon as I stormed my way outside, I went to the nearest door I could find. It was the Economics room where Sam and I first met. I punched it so hard that I didn't feel any pain at all. I looked at my knuckles, it was bleeding. And the door had a huge hole in the middle. But I didn't care. It felt good to let everything out.
