The following day seemed to be just fine. Everything was still in order so there's really no need for Sam to do anything much, but she did came across Daisy again.
"Hey!"
"Hi Sam".
"How's that friend of yours?" Sam asked, still containing her laughter when she remembered how Daisy’s doofus of a friend scurried out.
Daisy chuckled, "Oh she's fine, she'll be a little late though, caught up in traffic".
Sam can't figure out why Zen acted weird yesterday. If she wants to be friends with me, she should at least try to talk to me. Sigh. Then she got an idea to get her to talk to her!
"Here, give it to her for me, will you? Let her sign it", said Sam while handing over a small notebook.
"What's this?” asked Daisy.
"It's a Slum book, if she can't tell me more or introduce herself to me in person. I figured, maybe letting her write about herself in that notebook would help".
"Oh wow! That's a great idea Sam! I'll hand this over to her", said Daisy. Obviously excited for her friend.
"Sure! Tell her she could write at any page she'd like. You could also write down about yourself in another page, Daisy".
"Double-wow! Thanks, Sam! You really are the best!"
"Hey, no problem! You can take it home with you though. For as long as you return it after a few days".
"Sure thing, Sam!"
The bell rang indicating class was about to start.
That should do the trick. Sam thought. It should work!
-o-
It took a good three days before Zen returned Sam's autograph. Daisy too had filled it out. Before the day ended, it's as if half of the class had already written in Sam's slum book. This gives her a lot of reading to do over the weekend.
"Thanks for letting me sign it, Sam!” exclaimed another girl.
"Sure thing!"
"I'm Melody. You can find my entry somewhere in there. I had fun filling it out!"
"I'm glad to know, Melody", Sam nodded to her and took her hand to shake.
"Listen, I hate to be rude but I’ve got to get home. With the long weekend coming up, I bet we’d be swamped with homework!"
"Yes! Oh my gosh, you're right! I better head home too. See you Tuesday, Sam!” hollered Melody.
"Sure! See you soon!"
-o-
As soon as Sam went home, she immediately went into her room, changed into some comfy clothes, and opened the slum book right away. She hadn’t plan on having the entire class fill it out, but oh well, plans change.
There were a couple of entries she had read, including Melody's.

Then she finally came across Zen's entry. She thought it was on the first page, it didn't surprise her that much to find out it's at the last page.

Dedication...
Dear Sam,
Thanks for letting me sign your slum book even if I looked stupid the last time you saw me. I'm sorry if my page is a bit dirty, you can just tear it out of your notebook if you'd like. Uh, so, yeah, thanks again!
P.S.
I'll try building up my courage, but until then, expect a lot of "running away from you" kind of scene.
Sincerely,
Z
Sam had to admit. The last part before the dedication to her had made her choke-up a bit and had to start to read from the top just to make sure she didn't miss anything or that she had read it right.
Wow. She. Has. A. Crush. On. Me. Sam thought. That’s something new. All her life only the boys at school would send her letters and express their crush on her, she’s used to it by now. But a girl? Now that’s really something, it was the only thing she could think of during the entire weekend!
