Chapter Thirty-Nine - What Now?
Sam's POV As soon as I heard the front door close, I held Rome tighter and I blacked out. I wasn't sure what happened. When I finally opened my eyes, I blinked a couple more times until Rome's features became clear. "Hey... You got me worried there." Rome stroked my left hand. We were still in Vanessa's house, in the guest room. "What happened?" My head still feels dizzy. "You collapsed, Sam. The doctor that came in to check on you said it was just stress and fatigue. Haven't you been eating right lately?" He asked. "Uhm, no. I barely noticed what I ate earlier today." I looked around but Vanessa wasn't around. "Where's Ness?" "She's in the kitchen, cooking something for you. She was worried about you too. Her dad called saying he couldn't come home so it was okay if you slept here.
