Elena Ray's fingers brush a strand of hair from my face. His touch is light, almost hesitant. His amber eyes search mine. "You are not safe here," he says. "Alexander will come back. He will burn this cottage to find you." His hand drops to his side. "But I have a place. A place no one knows about. Will you come with me?" I stare at him. My heart pounds. My throat tightens.
