He couldn't let himself start down that rabbit hole and think about all of the possible consequences that could possibly follow that train of thought. He needed to focus on getting through tonight, regardless of how nervous he may or may not be.
He pulled into a parking spot just a few moments later after glancing over at Ava for approval, earning a nod from her. Chris climbed out of the car and immediately headed inside without giving her any explanation as to why he wanted to leave. The second he shut the door behind him he instantly heard a loud voice coming from upstairs followed by the sound of a slamming door. Immediately afterwards, he heard footsteps heading downstairs. He sighed inwardly. Just great... Now he really wished he hadn't left his jacket back at Josh's place.
