Sandwich Guy 2

391 Words
The last bell rang and Sandwich Guy is on his way to the guys locker room when he sees Kearns and Sweatpants walking together without Chapi. It caught him off guard but he didn’t think much of it as Kearns is typically friends with everyone. He made his way into the guys locker room and over to his locker which was in between Chapi and Red Shoes lockers. He couldn’t help looking over at Red Shoes as he pulled his shirt up and over his head with his back to sandwich guy revealing the muscles across his back flexing with every movement. He all but melted watching red shoes move in what seemed like slow motion as he got ready for practice. *** “Five more laps!” Coach called as they sprinted around the gym. To sandwich guy watching red shoes run was like seeing a sunset for the first time. He couldn’t help himself, everything about red shoes put knots in his stomach. The good kind of knots, the kind that don’t just go away. The way he ran, the sweat dripping down his brow, the way his muscles flexed, it all made him weak. “That’s enough, bring it in!” Coach yelled out and they all sat around him waiting to hear their first drill of the day. “I’m going to partner you all up and we’re gonna do takedowns. Got that?” “Yes Coach” the team said in unison. “Okay, Sweatpants and Kearns, let's put you two together, then Jeans and Mountain Bike, Chain and Headgear, Banana Man and Walmartbag. So then that just leaves Chapi, Sandwich Guy, and Red Shoes. Chapi you join Sweatpants and Kearns, Red Shoes and Sandwich Guy you’re together. Let’s get to it!” Sandwich guy was overwhelmed with happiness. He was so happy that he and red shoes got put together. This could be his chance, maybe show him how he felt. Red shoes led the way to an empty circle in the back. Sweat dripped down red shoes brow and onto his bare chest as he had taken his shirt off earlier because it was drenched in sweat. Sandwich guy had done the same. They stood across from each other in the center of the circle, hands ready for when the coach blew the whistle.
