It's been a year since Veronica's passing and everything seems back to normal. Cyla tried so hard to get back on her feet, Stephen's business is booming as well as the other acolyte that has been grace by Apollo's blessings. Everyone frantically forgot that there is a murder once in the crib, making the culprit think that they have gotten their way out.
But they got it all wrong.
"I KNOW WHAT YOU DID THAT NIGHT. I SAW IT WITH MY EYES."
A bloody note was seen in Apollo's newest Tesla car that was parked at his basement. His face turns pale and he got chills all over his body. It looks like somebody is trying to extort some money out of him, and trying to threaten his inner peace.
"Eddie," tawag ni Apollo sa driver, matapos mabasa at ibulsa ang note na nakita.
"Yes, Mr. Cheng?"
"I want you to investigate something for me, I can't sit at ease knowing that someone is trying to toy on me. This can't be happening to someone like me. Find that person and bring that to me." makapangyarihan niyang utos.
"As you instructed, Mr. Cheng." sagot ni Eddie, bago ito yumukod sa kanya.
Nagpatuloy sa pagtatrabaho si Apollo na parang walang nangyari. But he was being disturbed religiously by an anonymous attacker. Notes after notes can be seen at his car every f*cking morning. And that person even dare to send letters at his mailbox that supposedly private and only people that are close to him knows it.
"WHEN WILL YOU FLATTEN THE CURVE? I AM PISSED. DON'T KEEP ME WAITING."
"DO YOU THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH IT? A LIFE THAT WAS INTENTIONALLY CUT-SHORT WAS UNFORGIVABLE."
"TURN YOURSELF IN. THAT IS THE MOST HONORABLE THING THAT YOU CAN DO, MR. CHENG."
"JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED. IT CANNOT BE BLINDED BY MONEY AND POWER."
"HOW DARE YOU LIVE A WONDERFUL LIFE, WHILE SOMEONE YOU KILLED IS BEING ROTTEN UNDER THE GROUND."
"A CHILD LOST HER MOTHER HORRIBLY AND I HAVE NEVER SEEN REMORSE FROM YOU. WHAT A JERK!"
"I AM SECRETLY WATCHING OVER YOU. DO THE RIGHT THING OR I WILL DO THE FAVOR FOR YOU."
"A LEOPARD THAT KILLED A LION AND RUN FROM THE UPPER TRUNK OF THE TREE THINKS HE IS ALREADY ABOVE AND MIGHTY WITHOUT EVEN REALIZING THAT THE VENOMOUS SNAKES LURKES ON TOP OF HIM AND READY TO ATTACK IN NO TIME."
"REPENT. AND I WILL SHOW YOU SOME MERCY."
"What happen with your investigation? Did you catch who's doing this?" iritableng tanong ni Apollo kay Eddie. He got tired with endless notes and he's been so worried. It needed to stop, asap!
"I tried looking at cctv at this area. But the image has been altered."
"What do you mean by that? We owned that footage am I right? How can it be altered like that?"
"We suspects that the person behind this had control over our system that they manages to toy us around."
"Damn it!" galit na sigaw ni Apollo sabay hampas ng malakas sa kanyang lamesa. "This has to stopped, Eddie." maawtoridad niyang utos.
"I will handle this matter, my way. I'll update you as soon as possible." ani Eddie. "For now, don't do anything and act as normal as possible.The most effective hunter keeps really quite befire attacking the prey. We must be like that.
"Okay. I leave it up to you. Don't disappoint me, Eddie."
"Not a chance, Mr. Cheng!"
Tinitigan ito ni Apollo ang butihing tauhan. Buti na lamang at mayroon siyang loyal na tauhan na kagaya ni Eddie na maaasahan sa mga ganitong bagay. He can't let Sinica handle his s**t anyway. His wife has no idea that he got blood with both of his hands. He has to deal with it silently. At sa oras na makilala niya ang may gawa nito ay sisiguraduhin niyang paparusahan niya ito nang malala na ito na mismo ang magmamakaawa sa kanya na patayin ito.
"Excuse me Madam, somebody sent you a parcel today." ani Rona sa boss nang umagang iyon. Kakabukas pa lang nila ng boutique nang bulagain siya ng postman.
"Parcel? I'm not expecting for any delivery today." ani Sinica.
"But the postman said, this is highly confidential and should be handed over you with utmost care."
"What could it be?" puno ng pagtatakang tanong ni Sinica. "Okay, leave it then. You can go back to your work, I will take care of this myself."
"As you please," sagot ni Rona. Umalis na rin ito kaagad para mapag-isa ang ginang.
"This is crazy, who would in the right mind will send me a gift without telling it beforehand?" ani Sinica sa sarili, gayunpaman ay nagpasya rin siyang buksan ito para alamin kung ano ang laman niyon at baka ito ay importante.
Kinuha niya ang kanyang gunting at tahimik na binuksan ang box, only to find out the shocking discovery inside. It was a bloody doll with a rope around its neck. And there is bloody hand-written note that says, "YOU'RE A MURDERER! I AM COMING TO PUNISH YOU!"
"Oh my God! What the hell is this?!" nanginginig ang kalamnan na ani Sinica. Tutop niya ang dibdib at ramdam niya ang lakas ng kalabog ng kanyang puso.
Mabilis siyang nagtungo sa lamesa niya at dinampot ang telepono. "Rona, send Elvis here." utos niya.
She feels like she's going to throw up with what she saw. It was unimaginably disgusting to see first thing in the morning. Sino ang gagawa niyon sa kanya at ano ang alam nito para sabihan siyang mamamatay-tao?
"Yes, madam?" hangos na bungad ni Elvis pagkapasok nito sa kanyang opisina.
"Take a look at that box." utos niya sabay turo sa box na nasa center table.
Lumapit naman agad ang lalaki at sinuri ang laman ng box. Nagpailing-iling ito nang makita ang laman at ang note.
"This looks like a prank, madam. Nowadays, youngsters tend to do this for fun." ani Elvis. And the blood like handwritten is somewhat paint that was dried up."
"Prank?! What kind of sick prank is this?!" asik nito.
"Don't worry madam, I'll look into it for our safety."
Puno ng pag-aalala ang isip at puso ni Sinica. Hindi kaya mayroong witness sa ginawa niya kay Veronica nang gabing iyon? Ngunit sino?
