He wasn’t speaking to Aurion directly, but he clearly couldn’t give a damn if the older Knight had heard him. Aurion only pursed his lips, pretending he hadn’t noticed anything as the squire continued to mumble discontentedly under his breath as he set up the dueling ring. One of the other squires hissed and punched his shoulder, telling him to shut up, but the child only did so begrudgingly, shooting dark looks at Aurion when he thought the Knight wasn’t looking. While he didn’t exactly appreciate the tone, Aurion could admit to understanding where the squire was coming from. He’d been challenging Diroze for years at this point, and had yet to win a single match. Even those who had once been excited to see a bout between two of the most powerful Knights in the kingdom were bound to grow
