U.S. Navy Diving & Salvage CenterO ur Friday Ocean Systems report is a bit special. Last night we got an alert from local Coast Guard aviators that they’d spotted good size bull sharks schooling in one of the areas the command uses for open-ocean training. Bull sharks can be aggressive, and a bunch of them can spell trouble for divers. I’ve included an alert framed in red on the front page so our report looks a little flashier than usual, and I’m proud of it. At 0730 sharp we start the new hand-delivery program. It’s a typical Florida summer day—hot and muggy from the first light of dawn. I drive with Petty Officer Denning riding shotgun and navigating.
