Barbara hadn't been gone fifteen minutes when she came back carrying IV supplies.
One look at what she had with her made my stomach drop.
This was happening.
“Alright.” Barbara gave me the same calm smile she'd had since we arrived.
“We're going to get your IV started and get some fluids going. Dr. Cole is on her way.”
Doom stood immediately.
“How long?”
“She should be here within the next couple of hours, but she's already reviewed what we've sent her.”
Barbara moved beside my bed.
“With you contracting, being three centimeters dilated.
"Carrying triplets at thirty-two weeks and six days.
"We're preparing for the possibility that today is the day you meet your babies.”
My eyes filled.
Today.
Doom's hand closed around mine.
I looked at him.
“Baby.”
