Doom left again, making Valerie and me laugh.
“I guess I'm not the only one excited about you having another one of my grandbabies.”
“No.” I smiled.
“Doom was really happy when I told him I wanted another baby with him.
"Especially when I told him I wanted to start trying when Thane turned five months.”
Valerie patted my hand.
“You know, I'm so damn thankful you gave my boy another chance after what happened between you two.”

“Doom wasn't the same after you left,” she continued.
“My son turned dark. I was worried about his ass for a while. I was still incredibly hurt and angry about what he'd done to you.
"But watching him destroy himself wasn't easy either.”
