Venus stopped to catch her breath after a while. she was tired of running. she knew she was lost in the woods and would soon start going in circles but she couldn't stop running for she would be killed if she was caught. Hearing the dogs barking again, she continued to run for her life. The moon was soon hidden by clouds and the fog in the woods started to set in again. Venus contiuned to look back to make sure the torches were nowhere in sight. She then focused her attention to the land before her and saw the sea. Her heart began to beat faster. Her boat was close, she could almost taste her freedom, she thought happily.
Lost in her thoughts, Venus stopped paying attention to the road before her. She missed a trap and was soon caught in a net. She struggled with it and tried to escape but the net wouldn't budge. She knew she couldn't scream for her pursuers would hear her and catch her. When she saw the torches coming closer, she struggled even more with the net while tears rolled down her eyes but the net was tightly bound to the tree. The dogs soon found her and their barks brought her pursuers to her. Anes came closer to her with a sick smile on his face and brought out his sword.
“Say hello to Myra for me.”
Just as he brought down his sword to strike Venus, her eyes opened and she jumped out of bed. She had been having the same night mare for days now. She stood up and went into her brother's room, Hermis. Just as she thought, he was fast asleep. Not wanting to disturb him, she took her bow and arrows to the roof to practice. Hermis had made some wooden targets for them to practice during the day. The night was beautiful but Venus couldn't find peace by looking at the stars for her heart was too heavy. She began to practice. After a while, she finally looked up at the stars and let her mind wander to the stories she had heard and to where she was today....
