He said nothing but went and cut Greenwood loose from where he was tied inside the wagon. The man climbed down and rubbed his wrists. "Our agreement has been honoured, Sir Angus" she said. "Wade across the stream and you are a free man." Unexpectedly Greenwood appeared hesitant. "Why didn't Abbott William accompany us?" he asked. Kendra frowned but decided to continue the ruse. "His faith, Sir Angus. He only interrupts his morning prayers and solitude in an extreme emergency. A man of his stature must maintain the faith." "Of course. I thought perhaps..." "You aren't reneging on our agreement, are you?" Kendra forced her words to remain cold but calm. "
