The police station was packed with bustling people and ringing telephones when Sebastian non chalantly walked in. He slapped the front desk where Desiree was on the phone, his presence making the girl smile cheerfully and told the person on the phone one second. She rested the phone on her shoulder and pushed a loose strand behind her ear. Sebastian wasn’t phased by her flirtatious personality, he was used to the attention of the assistants and desk girls blushing over him the second he stepped into this place. Besides, he knew a few of them had their noses up for officers so he did his best to mingle little with them. “What’s up, Sebastian?” “Is Oxen here?” He leaned on the desk and rose a brow, “I gotta talk to him about a few things.” “Yeah, He’s in his office.” He slapped the counter and pointed at her, “You’re the best, Desiree.” he headed down the hallway. After going home and doing laundry since he spotted some blood on the sleeve of his hoodie, he changed into Vans, cotton black harem pants, a Megadeath tank top, and a drape-looking jacket that hung past his knees. He ran his hand through his fresh-cut Fohawk which revealed his wolf tattooed along his right side, appreciating Jessica’s work at the barbershop. He felt his presence caught a couple police officers to look in his direction, some double-taking as he walked passed the bullpen with his chin tipped up proudly. As much damage as he’s done to the city, he was still comfortable as a victim themself walking through this place. But then again, he was untouchable from them. He scratched their back, they scratched his. He quickly turned the corner and dodged officer Giggs by quickly spinning around her. Officer Giggs shuffled her files in her arms and grunted from the sight of him. Officer Giggs and a few other officers were on Sebastian’s back but in a way of locking him up for good. So far, his hands came up clean of crimes that it pissed them off. She gave him a dirty look as she took in his hipster presence. “What are you doing here?” Sebastian held his hands out and shrugged with a smile. “Just wanna talk to Oxen. You look lovely today. Glowing with hatred, are we? ” She rose a brow and turn more to him, already annoyed with his mouth. “Would this visit have something to do with Frey boys found dead in their trailer?” The accusation made Sebastian’s shoulders relax. He smiled and stepped closer to her, he plucked the top file from the stack while they exchanged looks. He flipped it open and huffed through his nose, looking over the distasteful mutilation to the Frey boys. He wanted them dead, but just hasn’t gotten around to plan it. They were messing with his drug routes, knocking out and robbing his delivery boys. Rumors were his lack of product was starting to lose customers. But he wasn’t too much bothered by them just yet to take them out, let alone, in their own home. It wasn’t his style. He clapped the file shut and handed it back, Gig shifting the stack into one arm and ripped it out of his hand. His smile twitched bigger and tipped his chin up, knowing how quickly he annoyed her. He took a step even closer to be in her personal space and narrowed his eyes, amusement darkening them. He whispered it coldly, “If I wanted them dead…I’d be creative about it.” “So you admit you didn’t kill these people, but what about others?” Giggs swallowed, saying it faintly. “You’re a Klause. Why should I believe you?” Sebastian blinked, not phased by the verbal dagger. He’s heard it all before. He leaned back and slipped his hands into his pockets and exhaled, listening to the bustling station around them. His smirk twitched at the corners, ducking his head down to their feet. His tolerance was thick as whale skin from the insults and threats over the years. Now, it was just fun and games when people tried to throw his name into the dirt. “I’m a Klause, yes. ” He bounced his left leg a few times. He rose a stern brow and locked eyes with her, “And if a Klause wants you dead, you get no choice out of it…you’re dead.” Giggs sucked a breath in and quickly opened her mouth but her eyes moved behind him. Office Randal Oxin was leaning out his door and intently watching them. Sebastian’s eyes followed to spot Oxin too, his eyes lighting up a little. “Speaking of the devil.” He grinned, turning to face him. Oxin rose a brow. “My office?” “Of course.” He smiled then turned back to Gigs, blowing her a kiss before he walked away. “What the f**k are you wearing? You look like a sobered up hippie.” “I could ask you the same.” Oxin growled and shut the door hard, dropping the curtains which sent Gigs on her way. She knew if anyone had dirt on Sebastian, it was Oxin. She loathed it. The heavy man walked over to his desk and groggily cleared his throat, muttering a fowl name under his breath that made Sebastian smirk. Oxin turned his seat around, “What’s going on now?” “Saw Spencer this morning.” Sebastian calmly scratched behind his ear, peaking Oxen’s interest. “If I did recognize him, I wouldn’t have shot him in the shoulder.” “Tsk. Jesus Christ, Sebastian.” He hissed, plopping down in his seat. Sebastian gestured to him and rested his ankle on his knee, “I just thought you’d like to hear from the horse’s mouth than someone else’s. Particularly that lying bastard’s mouth.” He drummed his fingers on his resting knee. “He was running with Edgar at that AIDS infested casino of his. A couple of my boys and my cameras caught him sneaking into my warehouse last night.” Oxen sneered at him, wanting to doubt it. “What the f**k for? What are you doing now, Sebastian?” “At the moment. Nothing big.” Sebastian loosely crossed his arms and huffed, tilting his head to the side as he glanced over his desk. His desk was dust clean with little on top yet his computer and keyboard, phone, notepad which had notes scribbled on it, and a couple of picture frames. He didn’t have to look to know what they were of. “I’ve just been keeping tabs on Edgar and the money he owed me.” “Owed?” Oxen rose a brow, a feeling that he already knew. “Did he pay it back fully or with blood?” “Uncle, please.” Sebastian shifted in the seat to slouch more. He bounced his leg, “He was also harassing woman, I can’t stand for that kind of shit.” “You’re a saint.” Oxen sarcastically commented and ran his hand through his thinning blonde hair and groaned, joining his hands together on the desk. He quickly swiped his tongue over his teeth and glared at his lap. “And once again, I told you if you wanna be a co-.” “Please.” Sebastian snorted, his eyes drifting around the office. He was already bored three seconds into the career lecture. “What I do is more fun.” “Still.” He growled. “What happened to the Frey Boys, Sebastian?” “Not my department, officer.” He grabbed the arms of the chair and sat up. He fluidly got to his feet and started to wander around, first thing scanning over the reward plaques on the wall. “Already told Gorgeous Giggs if I did, I would’ve gotten creative with it.” He smiled at him for a second and then joined his hands together in front of him as he glanced over the few family pictures. He stopped and spotted the only one of himself in. He was seven-years-old, almost unrecognizable if it wasn’t for the eyes. It was a barbecue family picture, ironically standing next to his cousin Spencer while Randall had his hands on Spencer’s shoulders while a woman had her arms wrapped around Sebastian’s neck. Both her and Sebastian were smiling, matching jet black hair and eyes. All smiles, no horrid event yet. His throat went dry the longer he stared at it, fluttering his eyes lids when Oxin called him. He cleared his throat and moved over to the bookshelf, he brushed his fingers over each spine. “I’m guessing you need my help with the Frey Boys.” Oxin shifted in his chair and watched his nephew. He wasn’t concerned nor interested in Sebastian’s everyday events, it was more of putting a wedge in between themselves for years now. In the station, it was just business and he knew Sebastian knew. But deep down, he still cared for his nephew as every now and then he saw deceased his sister come out in him. Oxin knew he didn’t have to put much effort in protecting Sebastian since he had her strategic brains and Eric’s devilment and morals. In a way, he was the perfect criminal that they just couldn’t seem to grab and Oxin oddly found that proud to have him in his family. He rubbed his thumbs together, “We have no leads. No one is talking.” “Shocker there, really.” Sebastian pulled Moby d**k off the bookshelf and glanced over the aged cover, cracking it open. He saw his mother’s writing wishing his uncle a happy birthday, it made his stomach turn a little. “I can probably rearrange my schedule around to fit it in.” He gently closed the book. He kissed the cover and slipped it back onto the shelf, “But I need a favor in return.” He turned back to him. Oxin rolled his eyes, “Of course. What is it now?” “A buddy of mine lost a bet. Instead of paying me, he’s trading me for his sister’s services instead.” He walked over and grabbed the back of the chair. Oxin blinked, speaking bluntly. “That’s prostitution and probably rape, Sebastian.” Sebastian held a finger up, crossing his arms on the back of the chair now. “Not rape if she was asking for more this morning.” The comment sadly made Oxin snort and lean back in his chair, wiping his hand over his smirk then crossed his arms. “Anyways, I just want a background check on her and her brother. Make sure they’re reliable people I can be around.” “I’m happy you don’t have kids yet.” Oxin sat up and picked up a pen, pulling his note pad over. “What’s their names?” “Kassandra Folks.” He watched his uncle draw a line under his old notes then write the name down, “And her brother is Balter Folks.” “Balter?” Oxin perked up which had peaked Sebastian’s interest. Oxin danced his pen around, “Balter’s has a warrant out for his arrest.” The room remained quiet for a moment, Sebastian debating to take the bait. Besides having Nate transferring names and Dank coming back to the city, he had a feeling he was gonna have enough on his plate. Finally, his eyes fell to the desk. “For what exactly?” “He was with a man who had intentions to deliver contraband into the city, the man ratted him out since he said a few things were missing from the supply.” Sebastian ran his hand through his hair then rubbed the back of his neck, groaning. He made a deal to Kassandra not to hurt Balter, he hated going back on his deals. “What’s the contraband?” “Guns.” Oxin bounced his pen on his notepad. “When was the last time you saw him?” “Three days ago at Larry’s pub.” Sebastian admitted, “That’s where we watched the game, you can ask Felicia about it or even watch the cameras. I was sitting at the far right corner at the bar, second booth from the wall. Had a beer and a grilled chicken sandwich got there about six.” “You’ve been interrogated too many times.” Oxin coldly commented and got up, thankful he had brilliant memory to save his own ass. He walked over to the door, opening it “Get out of here. I’ll let you know what else I can dig up about them.” Sebastian swallowed, knowing what his uncle meant by being interrogated too much. He inhaled as he stood up and slapped the chair, he was about to walk out until then Oxin held his arm out in front of the doorway. Sebastian stared ahead, knowing what he was doing it. “I don’t agree with what you do, Sebastian. But your mother would still be proud of you if she was here.” Sebastian looked at him then and Oxin got goosebumps from his sister’s eyes, remembering that look of determination she always gave him back in her days. Sebastian cleared his throat, wanting to snap at him but he knew it was out of love he said it. He was one of the few that let it slide, muttering it under his breath. “Thanks. I’ll keep in touch.” ~~~~~*~~~~~ “Ow! What the hell was that for?!” “You practically sold me to a guy last night!” Kassandra hissed, leaning on the counter. She didn’t care if there was people in the movie store, she was still pissed. Sure, she found shocking that Sebastian could make good breakfast, how nice he was with kicking her out this morning, what her schedule this week for him looked like, or just how nice he was in general. All she had to do was get a dress for a wedding that Sebastian was invited to by this week since the girl he always brought with to events was out of state on vacation. Either than that, she had to come over later tonight to go over some “ground rules” of his. Whatever that meant. “Hey, not just any guy.” Balter shrugged dramatically, “He was gonna take a golf club to knee caps if I didn’t give his money. We’re talking big, scary boss dog here.” Kassandra scoffed and blurted it out, “So you throw me into the equation? How brotherly!” “Okay, okay, okay. I’m sorry.” He held his hands up, “What do you want me to do?” “Like there’s anything you can do now.” She tightly crossed her arms. She wanted to throw more guilt on him of Sebastian taking her virginity but decided to keep that part personal. She was embarrassed more over the fact that she wanted more out of him this morning which he shockingly declined. She thought back on the way he traced circles in her back falling asleep from his touch. He was dangerous but why was his touch so enticing to me? “I gotta go.” She thrusted a finger at her brother, “You owe me big time. I mean it.” She pulled her purse more on her shoulders and took a step back, spotting a few people waiting to check out. “Stop being stupid, Balter.” She called out and stormed out of the movie store. Her phone suddenly vibrated which made her stop in her tracks, fishing it out of her hoodie pockets and saw it was Catherine calling. She softly cursed under her breath, remembering then. She was supposed to go the bar with her and Maddie last night, plan was after she was done hanging out with Sebastian. She slid her finger across and pressed it against her ear, fishing her car keys out next. “Hey, sorry about last night.” She grimaced, heading down the sidewalk. “What gives? Too cool to hang out with us now.” Catherine teased, hearing music in the background. “Yeah, I wish.” Kassandra rolled her eyes and spotted her white Ford Explorer. “No, I had to run a few errands with Balter last night. Apparently, he didn’t want to go alone.” She unlocked the car and grabbed the door handle. “He’s probably gonna live in your guy’s basement when you move out.” Catherine groaned, “So this means you’re paying up by coming out tonight?” “Possibly.” Kassandra opened the car door and pushed her hair behind her ear, glancing up when something bright colored caught her attention. It was a bright green Jeep Gladiator with a white hardtop and white accent lines along the sides of it. Behind it was a rumbling bright red Dodge Hellcat. Staring longer, she didn’t recognize the guy in the hellcat who was chewing on a toothpick but the man in the Gladiator made Kassandra hiccup a squeak. It was Sebastian—and now he was two times more irresistible. He had his hand out gripping the roof as his mysterious eyes hid behind his aviators. Think of the devil and he’s shows up announced. All of a sudden then, Sebastian glanced her way. “Shoot.” She scowled and got into her car. “What? Spill your purse again.” “Y-yeah.” Kassandra hunched her shoulders, not breaking eye contact with Sebastian. He didn’t move for a solid minute then tore away, his jaw tightened and the jeep moved forward. Kassandra watched it moved then double glanced when the red Hellcat crackled by, seeing the guy was looking at her too. He smirked and reeved the car, swerving around the Jeep then continued roaring down the street. What was he doing now? She swallowed, glancing back to the movie store. Was he keeping an eye on Balter? Was he still planning to take him out? “I gotta call you back. I, uh, can’t find my charger.” “Typical. Fine.” “Thanks. Call you right back.” Kassandra smiled frail, hanging up. She went through her contacts then, scrolling all the way to the bottom to the SEBASTIAN KLAUSE. She stared it down, finding herself hesitating. He got a haircut, was it for the wedding? She nipped her lip and pressed her knees together, the way he explored her last night still had her shaken up and a little sore this morning. But she found herself still hungry for more. She tapped on the name and stared at his phone number. About to tap it, she flinched when her phone vibrated and his name was enlarged on the screen. Did the devil read my mind too? “Fuck.” She swallowed, quickly answering it. “Yeah?” “Stalking me now?” His calm voice hit her ears, making her lady bits quiver. “N-no. I just got done yelling at my brother.” She gripped her phone tighter, “Call it a coincidence since that I can’t miss your bright colored car as it drives by.” Sebastian chuckled, sending chills through her. “Let me just go trade it in for a boring black one. What’s your plans tonight?” “Stop by your place for ground rules.” Kassandra murmured, “Why? What’s up?” “Nate wants to meet you when you come over tonight. He’s blowing up my phone now…motherfucker. So don’t wear anything provocative, got it?” “Sure.” Kassandra thought about what would happen if she did. What was provocative to him? “Hoodie and jeans okay?” Sebastian paused. “Eh, go with sweatpants or pajama pants. I gotta go, I got a meeting to go to.” “Alright, bye.” Kassandra weakly smiled. “Bye.” The line clicked and Kassandra found herself smiling oddly. Why did he want me to not wear anything provocative? Was it just for him? She settled her phone down to her lap and glanced over at the dress in the bag in the plastic bag. Was the dress he wanted me to get too provocative? She slipped her phone into the cup holder and turned the car on, hearing her phone vibrate then. It was a text message now from Sebastian, picking it up and unlocked it. Her heart fluttered when he saw the picture of her in the dress, sending her a thumbs up. She pressed her phone against her chest and huffed, smiling. Least he approved. She closed her eyes and pictured it, seeing Sebastian push her against the wall and lift her thigh up and nuzzle her neck. Just the sound of his belt being undone made her hungry to have him fill her up again. “Hey, Kass!” Kassandra was torn from her daydream, ripping her phone down and cleared her throat, seeing Balter jogging over. She squeezed her thighs together, feeling the dampness in her underwear now. He came over with his phone and nodded, leaning on the window. “You busy tonight? I gotta run over to Reagan’s tonight.” “I gotta go over to Sebastian’s tonight.” she swallowed. He drummed his fingers on the window and squinted down the road. “If I put gas in your car, can I borrow it?” He squinted back at her, “I don’t trust my beater heading over to the next town over.” “You going to pick me up?” she rose a brow, putting the keys in the ignition. “Of course. I’ll call or text you when I’m heading back.” Kassandra stared long and hard at him, “Fine. But if you leave me there, again.” She pointed at him, watching him stand up and back up. “I mean it, Balt.” “I promise.” He pledged by raising his right hand. “You’re the best.”
