Adam awoke with a grunt, sitting up fast and dragging the makeshift sheet ceiling that was pulled above his head forward. He forgot they set up a tent last night to keep the heat in and the tent’s ceiling height was incredibly low, to keep the heat they created close to their bodies. And that was why he woke up. It was incredibly colder than it was when they’d first set up the tent. He peeked over to Terrie to see her balled as tight as she could possibly be under four sets of comforters. He only knew she was there because she was vibrating, trembling ceaselessly out of her control. He didn’t bother to say anything to her, sliding a little from under the tent and peeking his head out into the lobby. He could immediately feel what the problem was. There was a draft.
