He didn’t know how long he walked through the freezing, dense snow, regretting every step he took. The snowfall was relentless, but his distress caused him to ignore the dangerous conditions. He just wanted to be alone, he needed it. Blaming Terrie wasn’t something he wanted to do, but she made him feel more alone than he already was sometimes, even when she was right there. But with him being so vulnerable, more heart wrenched than he’d ever been in this experience, he didn’t want to stare in the face of someone who made him feel less than for simply trying. It wasn’t completely her fault. He knew that she had her own life experiences that shaped her attitude and personality. In many ways, her life was more than likely harder than his. But even considering that, he knew himself better,
