Terrie watched Adam’s unmoving form. He didn’t so much as twitch since he joined her on the table. His heavy body was laying on top of the sheet, boots still on his large feet. He’d collapsed onto the table like it was the last thing he could physically do before he went completely still, passing out. She’d kept her eyes on him, making sure he was at least still breathing by monitoring the rise and fall of his chest and stomach. She wanted to help him get more comfortable, but she lacked the strength to do much else other than sit up. And even that was draining. She reached up to pull the towel still wrapped around his hair off, wanting to place it on his exposed hands instead so they’d stay warm.
