Adam breathed calmly through his nose, only coming to consciousness long enough to see that Terrie was still asleep. He was lying on his back, arms and legs feeling way too heavy to move or even shift slightly. Every blink was strained, as if he had weights on his eyes and lead running throughout his blood. He wanted to groan deep in his throat, but he couldn’t even do that. Thoughts ran through his mind like visages, sights and images kept flashing that he couldn’t mentally process.
