“Why are you still shaking, kitten?” His voice was soft, but his eyes had a fierce glow to them, as though he was holding off his anger.
My eyes widened at his question, “What…?”
The words got stuck in my throat as reality dawned on me.
Glancing down at myself, I noticed my right hand trembled as I lifted it slowly.

Biting my lips, I circled my right wrist with my left hand in a poor attempt to steady it.
Aiden's grip around my waist tightened as he stepped closer to me.
It was as if his presence offered some kind of grounding or safety that I had always yearned for.
